Walt spent an hour or two today on

Dec 3, 2012, 8:08 PM

Ga needing to clock the ball, and Richt's failure to call it right. I just know b/c I kept coming back every 15 mins and the topic was up again.

Georgia and Richt et al really blew it when they had the lead and the ball with six mins left and ran the ball up the middle three straight times and went 3 and out. Then giving up the big pass play. That was the ball game - not clocking the ball or not. When you have the lead and the ball with six mins. it's time to drive the ball and use up clock and finish the game off. They backed off, played not to lose, and that was it.

So yes, it was coach's fault, just not where everyone thinks.

It was suppose to be a fade to the end zone.

The ball was tipped and the player that caught the ball never should have been an option.

I agreed with the call. It gave UGA one extra play instead of just spiking it.

Bama lineman made a good play and tipped it. So I can't really fault the choice.

Hmmm. I think you didn't read my post.

If the play had worked, it's been what a great call

keeping the defense on it's heels.

I don't know what Walt said, but weren't you sitting there

watching the game as UGA had completed that pass and thinking "spike the ball" as they came up to the line of scrimmage. There were 15 seconds left and it was 1st down. You need the seconds more than you need the downs. If you spike it, you have two or three more shots at the end zone.

I like Walt , but lately it's repeat one thought for hours

and hours.

I mean there's a ton of local Clemson news with the LSU game, recruiting, Morris, etc and it was literally 2 + hours on UGA's last play.

I turned it off at work at 3:30 and pulled into my driveway at 5:45, turned it back on and it was the same point.

Maybe he should have seen Kiffin's (So. Cal) 3 plays up the middle against ND at the end of the game - then there might have been another SEC vs SEC NC game.
