Why all the Don Munson hate?

Seems like a lot of people don't like Don at all. Why? I listen to him call baseball with Bob and I don't mind listening to him. Did something behind the scenes happen once upon a time that I am not aware of? This is a serious question. Who would you rather hear call the games, and be specific?

Why does ribbing someone have to be "Hate"? I don't think its Hate. It was the joke on here last night how many times he says "Hash" during the broadcast.

It's weird Pete just feels more professional to me. Something about Don seems amateurish, I can't really put my finger on it.

Pete has a journalism background. He has been sports director and anchor at WSPA for years. Jim Phillips also was the Sports anchor at WYFF (WFBC back then) prior to Clemson. Not sure what Munson's background is. Didn't he do that 5th QTR post game show on radio years ago after Clemson games?

Yeah I certainly don’t hate him, I just think he was a major downgrade from Yannity. He’s not a Clemson guy either, He just kissed enough but to get that job apparently. I had to listen to part of the game on the radio last night, and he sounded really confused at times, kind of embarrassing

At games I listen to him on my earphone. It makes the game so much more fun for me.
At home have to listen to the tv ####### (turn them down low to still let in some game day crowd noise).
Jim Phillips aint coming back to the mike.
I bet multi millionaire Christian Wilkins would be great doing that.

Hate is definitely not the word I would use either. I met him about 15 years ago when I was coaching high school football and he was doing Friday nights. Seems like a good guy. Have friends that know him and his family well and say they are great people. However, like many have said, he just sounds a bit amateurish for a college announcer compared to others I listen to when when traveling on a Saturday. He’s definitely not as professional as Pete. I must confess I was a big JP fan. I find very hard to listen to Don any type of sporting event. He’s a little better than Beth Mowin, maybe.

For me..
He picked against Clemson in CFPNC vs Bama in Glendale..
He said something like 31-17 Bama over clemson..
Didn't care for him since... Jim Phillips would never pick against Clemson... NEVER!!!!

He’s not a good radio voice. PAC Man should have been offered that job but dandy Don kissed ars to get where he is. That information came from someone within the athletic department. Dabo supposedly can’t stand him.

biggest thing against him is that he looks AND sounds like a milquetoast.
The other thing is something that he, or no other announcer can do anything about. They ain't Jim Phillips.

I don’t hate Don Munson, but I also don’t like the way he calls games.
Because of various situations over the past few years I have listened to more live football games than I’ve watched and can say that I would advocate for a change. His descriptions of plays makes it hard for me to visualize what is actually happening on the field and he frequently goes long periods of time (entire drives) without referencing the game clock which drives me nuts. I would ask you to listen to a game (without having the TV on) and then tell your opinion.
To answer who I would replace him with; Pete Yanity. Unless he wanted out of the position, there was no reason a change should have been made.
