Clemson basketball, what to say...

that last 2-4 possessions were just unreal. Simms BARELY missed that pass after the steal. Brownell needs to go. It’s time. Down by 9 with 5 to go against a team that has won 9 games is just, well, ludicrous.
I feel bad for Simms. I really do.

I've been half jokingly texting my friends with #firebrad since the season before the sweet 16 run/fluke. I get that we probably won't get much better but Jesus, I'd rather suck and be exciting than this. Brad is a good dude but give me high pressure and athletes all day. We need shooters who say, "Make it rain biznitches" and then hammer down dunks on the ####### of Duke and UNC while some knuckledragger 7footer throws elbows in the lane all-damn-day! Give me scandals and rings. ####, if UNCheat, Bama and o310 can do this #### and not get caught #whynotus?!
#firehisazzalready #notfnaround #fireBRAD!!
Seriously tho, one and done? this sucks

Just an FYI...I go look at your web site from time to time to see what you're up to. Looks like you're doing well, but I still say 'ShoelessCU Gets A Haircut' is your best work.

I went to the Rick Barnes camp

For two years and absolutely loved his interaction with everyone and how he would talk to us all. I of course was a Clemson fan already, but that solidified the deal.
I also went to the Carolina Basketball Camp for two years and both were the last of the Dean Smith era. He was a good dude and he also spoke with us, but not with the same attitude as Barnes. I fell in love with Clemson basketball after those camps. Will never turn back.

I do think he could have been the Dabo for basketball

but he went the greener pastures route. Cannot really blame him. Dabo did not have that opportunity.
Someday we might find another diamond in the rough who will want to make Clemson basketball great.
Probably not though.
But we should not quit trying.

"Greener pastures". That's extremely diplomatic of you.

I love Barnes as much as any coach we've had in my lifetime, but I suspect he might still be here if he'd invested in a chastity belt.

Destined to be mired in perpetual mediocrity, at best. It’s like UVA football or any Coot sports... having any expectations at all is the problem.

compare Clemson Basketball to ANYTHING Gamecocks have accomplished. If I see you do this again, we will fight behind some STI Porta Potties.

Good teams always have scorers. Kids who can shoot the ball

when it counts. Just good old natural born shooters. All of that strategy and motion and sets and defensive intensity and whatever else might keep you in a game. But I've never seen a really good team that didn't have some shooters. Seems like we seldom have those kinda guys...

Unfortunate as it seems, Brad does juuuuuuuuuut enough

to keep his job. The real downer is that my answer to that is here in my own back yard. Pat Kelsey at Winthrop has elevated the Eagles back to being the best basketball program in the state of SC. The guy is the total package as a coach, and some power 5 school is going to scoop him up soon enough. Gregg Marshall might have turned out to be a nut job, but the fact remains he had Winthrop as the best basketball school in the state during his tenure, got the big offer and then had Wichita State on the map.
That said...I wonder how our team this year would fair in tournament with these teams...

I'm guessing NOT in the final 4 if this mythical tournament were actually played.

It's like Tommy Bowden all over again.
You have Dabo over here saying "best is the standard", but feels like the D-Rad standard for basketball coaches is "could be worse".

He should be making SOCON level money. Maybe we can have a clause that deducts $1,000 for every point that the team loses by. No recoup for wins.

guys. I think we got beat by 40 points in the paint. THAT is unfathomable and unacceptable. I'll give Miami this much though...Jim Larrañaga is an excellent coach and if that team had not been decimated with injuries this year, we would not have been the 5 seed.

It might be nice to have a coach that can slap a roof on Littlejohn and fix tacos for the concession stands while still coaching at a Brownellesque level.

The last Prowl and Growl I went to, I got Dabo's autograph on a schedule poster. I also had a basketball schedule in my hand as I moved on from Dabo towards Brownlee. I swear he was almost leaning towards me as if to be preparing to sign my hoops schedule, as I politely walked by him. I always felt a little bad about that. He is paying be back with his "coaching."
My bad.
