I do my best to keep reading and learning in life

Jan 23, 2019, 8:27 AM

I'm appalled by some of the things I read about the Vietnam War. Then, when I want to investigate more about a key figure in the My Lai massacre, I get nothing but hits on Paul Walker's daughter.

Paul Meadlow is someone I want to know about. His admissions. I want to hear his interview. I want to know everything he had to say that shook the American public at the time.

Instead, all searches lead me to Paul Walker's daughter. If someone remembers this 60 minutes interview from 1970, can you clue me in? Apparently, it was a big deal that has gotten swept under the rug.

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

Not sure how in depth but you’ll get a better result if you spell the name right

I agree. My lack of knowledge of a subject that was 25+ years before my first memory

Jan 23, 2019, 11:22 AM

behooves me.

Somehow the Vietnam War wasn't in my text books in school.

I still can't find Paul Meadlo's 60 Minute interview, but I found enough to satisfy my appetite on the subject.

I'm just being facetious. I appreciate the article.

Vietnam. He talked a lot about it. He was half crazy, but he was really interesting and always kept you engaged in the conversation.

I was in elementary school when the Vietnam War ended. I always thought I didn't understand what was going on because I was a kid, until I read a lot of the 40th anniversary articles a few years back, and realized the whole situation was difficult for anybody to understand.

War is Hell, which is why we should fight one for only two

Semper Fi! One of the best things to come out

Jan 23, 2019, 2:33 PM

of WWII was some of the greatest leaders of our country came out of the military after the war. Just hear me out. These veterans then got into politics, on BOTH sides of the aisle. You had people (brothers in arms!) that fought (hand-to-hand combat sometimes) FOR each other in fox holes, living each day to protect your brother-in-arm. While in politics, these guys would then work/talk to each other to do 1 thing, do what's BEST FOR AMERICA...NOT FOR THEMSELVES! These people in politics today have no idea how to work with each other to do that. I'd like to see them GET IN A FOXHOLE WITH YOUR COUNTRPART AND DO WHATS BEST FOR AMERICA!!!

God Bless America

I want to hear you out, but I don't think the murders of non-combative women and children

Is what makes America great. Though, I 100% agree that leaving your life on the line for this country makes you more qualified. That's why I lean right.

Today, I can say I wouldn't condone shooting women and children but I wasn't there. Although many Vietnamese women and children killed US soldiers. The US troops were in My Lai based on intelligence of Vietcong living in the village. One thing for sure is that there was a reason only women, the elderly and children were killed in the village and that's because the working age men were off killing American soldiers for the Vietcong. As in one of the links, the caretaker of the museum (named Cong) who survived the killings, admitted his father found him wounded after coming home from fighting with the Vietcong. Therefore, it seems the intelligence was correct, just bad timing.

"murders of non-combative women and children". I was simply stating the facts of service members fighting together and then working together as politicians.

Right is right, God Bless America!
