I didn’t know Clemson had a planetarium!

Jul 19, 2022, 3:43 PM

I did not know Clemson had it’s own planetarium. I figured I’d post the information on her for others, like myself that will for sure be checking it out! Has anyone else been?

I was there for 5 years and never knew we had a crematory.

Comic relief, thanks for sharing, hilarious video

Jul 20, 2022, 10:18 AM

I love the fact we all love Clemson so much but it’s fun to know this video was meant for comic relief but now Clemson has achieved all this and more. Except for the Storm Thurmond stripes!

As a retired science teacher I was impressed with show they did and all the activities during Homecoming last fall. Our grands loved all the departments!

I took an astronomy course back in the 70s during summer school. The class met right after lunch in that dark, cool planetarium with the laid back chairs. It was sleepy time extreme! Somehow I did well in that class.

The History of The Planetarium

Jul 20, 2022, 10:11 AM

When the class of '30 was digging to expand steam tunnels they broke into a moleman cave complex. The plebes and molemen then built the first telescope to communicate with the moleman's home planet. Do not talk about this as the fate of the planet is relying on it.

If we all pitch in we could afford a Tigernet day

Jul 20, 2022, 10:22 AM

All of us Tigernet clowns could enjoy the show together if we start raising money now!

Private Shows
Private shows can be requested by either educational organizations (schools, scouting troops, library groups) or private parties (birthdays, family reunions, just for fun). During a private show, you will have the space to yourself and can request the topics you would like covered by the presenter. The cost for a private show is for the entire show, not per person.

Costs are as follows:

Educational organization, weekday: $40
Educational organization, weekend: $60
Private party, weekday: $60
Private party, weekend: $80
Do not let the cost be the preventing factor of bringing students to the planetarium; we will work with you. Discounted prices are available for educational groups whose visit would otherwise be prevented due to monetary restrictions. Email clemson.planetarium@gmail.com for more information.

Yeah we used it for a couple astronomy labs

Jul 20, 2022, 11:58 AM

It’s pretty neat.

The calculus in the 2nd or 3rd astronomy class, not so neat.
