I WAS willing to take a "Wait and See" attitude. He started doing things right immediately, but it still took a leap of faith on the part of Terry Don Phillips, TWICE, to get to where we are now. Never underestimate the heat that TDP knew he was potentially bringing down on himself when he held onto Dabo after that lackluster 2010 year.
And the rest, as they say, is History.

Agree. I remember thinking, "Well, this guy is saying all of the right things, but so does most every new coach." Turns out, he backed up to everything he said. We should have a TDP statue outside of the stadium.

Mrs. FutureDoc and I ran into the Swinneys the summer before randomly shopping for some patio furniture. They were fantastic then, Mrs FutureDoc got to chat with them a bit more while I loaded the truck (just married, self-picked quasi-wedding gift). I guess it is always good to talk to one of the English 100-level instructors.
When he was named interim/official coach, my wife said, "oh the patio guy" (yup, she does not follow football except to ask me on Sunday if we played and if we won) - was exited and then said nonchalantly - he is going to be good, very good. I didn't believe her but I trusted her. Had faith, for me to completely buy in took until that Maryland game in 2011 - and I got it in spurts while traveling in Utah.

Go back in my post history, and you'll see I was for Dabo back then, and I'm still pro Dabo.
Looking at how far ahead of the team he was coming down the hill shows that back then, he had a pretty good set of wheels. He has lost a little of the pep in his step now compared to back then, lol, Go Dabo, lets get back to winning the championships starting in 2022!!! Go Tigers!!!
