My FIL has never been allergic to

anything but maybe some poison ivy/oak.

About two months after the vaccine, he is all the sudden gluten intolerant at the age of 75. Then last week, he was stung by a bee and had to go to the ER. Allergic to bee stings. The reaction was so bad they are having him keep an epi with him at all times.

It’s super odd, but I also don’t believe in coincidences and the Docs have no answers for him as to why this is happening now.

bee sting allergies later in life. Uncle had bee hives on the farm at one time, and never had a problem. Then many years later, when he was in mid 70s, he just about died from a bee sting while cutting grass. My wife stepped on a bee in the yard about 15 years ago and her whole lower leg swelled up below the knee; never had any problem before. A guy I work with has been stung many times while growing up, no problem. He's now about 60, and about 5 years ago same thing happened to him - got stung and face swelled up and he had trouble breathing. Now he carries an epi pen. So that's not that uncommon.

I did around age 45. Got an epi pen now.***

Who almost died from reaction to peanuts when he was 45 (7 years ago) had eaten copious amounts of peanuts his entire life with no issues.

Probably a situation of true, true and unrelated.

Mrs. Tig developed a gluten intolerance late in life.

It took a long time to diagnose, but the doctor that finally figured it out told us that about half of all celiacs develop the condition late. So far no bee sting allergies though...which is good given the fact that she's a beekeeper.

All of a "sudden" or just not recognizing it?

I never knew i had a problem with am appendix until it burst. Is that Covid's fault? I mean it happened 2 months after Covid started circulating.....

I believe the facts are this ... Covid is forcing people to treat and get medical attention to things they've been ignoring for years. And then placing blame on vaccines or something whatever else. When it's mostly ... you're seeing a doctor for the first time in a decade.

That is actually how allergies work

with repeated exposure your reaction to the allergen intensifies. So you are not likely to have an allergic reaction the first time you are exposed to something.

I've spent a lot of time and money at the allergist thanks to my kid with a peanut allergy.
