I'm thinking there will be an opening soon at FSU and there is a new opening at the real USC right now.

Elliott will be moving on at some point. Nobody knows when.

Nah FSU cant afford to do another 1.5 year coaching turnover. At some point you have to realize the depth of the hole you are in and let someone try to take the 4-5 years it will actually take to fix it.

+Couple of comments, all of which are nothing more than my uninformed opinion.

1. It would take a major meltdown the rest of the year for norvell to be on the hotseat. He would have to have the team as unprepared as last Saturday for the next month. That probably won't happen.

2. USC is gonna go elephant hunting. I think they will target Lincoln Riley. I know nothing. Riely may be happy at OU and not looking to leave. Riley may have his eyes on the NFL. Or, maybe Riley's agent has already struck a deal in principle with USC (like Fisher did with aTm right after Kevin Sumlin lost the opening game of the season).

3. If USC doesn't get Riley, look for them to go after Luke Fickell. Fickell was Bearcat HC when Bohn was AD. All indications are they are mutually respectful.

short of a GOOD SEC job. Anything less would be just a lateral transfer or an actual demotion. And, all he has to do now is sit back for a couple years, and he will already BE in a good SEC job. Much like Nebraska, the time when USC was considered a plum destination job has come and gone.

Lincoln Riley won't leave OU for anything but the NFL

and I doubt that happens. As long as OU continues winning, he'll stay there.

If his seat gets hot in futures years, anything can happen. But forget him going to USC at this time.
