Panthers QB Pick

Knowing that DW is probably out of reach for the Panthers, I really hope they make a good QB pick in the draft. I see that McShay is projecting Justin Fields to the Panthers at 3 after trade with Dolphins. Its assumed Wilson goes 2nd. I'm not an NFL GM, I just play one on the interwebs. However, I am very leery of Fields. I know he torched us but I watched him play several times and his game against us was an outlier. Don't know much about the North Dakota QB but I would be happier with Jones over Fields.

Fields is a first rounder. Period. No such thing as an outlier with a guy as good as him, Trevor, and a handful of others.... every other game he played, still made him a first rounder. Our game just sealed the deal.

Point well taken. However, against us last year, Northwestern, Indiana and any defense with a pulse, he looked mediocre. I will admit that I have come to like and respect the kid. However, no way I take him over Wilson or Jones. I am not suggesting he is a Dwayne Haskins, but I wouldn't take him in the first round.

The problem i have with Fields is that he only gets up for

certain games. Other games he could care less and his play proves it. Can't do that in the NFL. Contrast that with how Deshaun plays. He takes them all the same. If Justin Fields played for a team like the Texans he would get benched just like HAskins did in Washington.

I agree with you raider. He plays only when he wants to. Almost in the same mold as Clowney.

I just hope they actually draft people they need. That organization is notorious for crapping the bed with their drafts. And the. When they finally do get a good pick. They ride that player hard and it’s out to pasture. Newton, Smith, Olsen, Mccafferey, Peppers, Kuechly, on and on. They never take care of their stars. Never get them some help. Just get one guy and put the whole team on their shoulders. I really hope DW doesn’t go there. As much as I would love to be able to see him play in person again.
Oh and I’m a panthers fan. Have been since my first NFL game in the inaugural season.
