I can tell the athletes vs The Keyboard Warriors

Jan 2, 2018, 1:08 AM

Anyone that played Football cannot put this loss on KB. Its fair to say he is not a great QB like DW but KB did not lose us the game. Our Oline was pitiful, and our gameplan sucked. That is on our coaches. Like im Boxing styles makes fights..same as football. We did not have the right gameplan. Plus Bama had more time to prepare and was rested. But this is not on KB.

Yeah, kind of a miss on all facets of our game. Our ugly start just snowballed.

Yes and no. While I don't blame KB for the loss,

the oline gets 90 percent of that blame, KB is not the answer either. He misses the reads on allot of read option plays and when he does scramble, her does not keep his eyes down field like Hurts did tonight on his first TD pass. I like KB but he's not what we need in this offense.

Good points, but let's tweak that conclusion . . .

It's hard for a QB to develop and settle in at all when the OL isn't holding. Yes, you already acknowledged that the OL was mostly at fault, but I would go further. The OL isn't only at fault for the results which flow directly from their performance, but they are also indirectly responsible for how the QB does his job. When you provide no space or time whatsoever for a QB to work in, then you can't be surprised when- in the few instances in which he DOES have time- he doesn't make the best decisions.

Of course, this doesn't mean that the QB has NO accountability, but I would say that an analysis of KB's work has to give him some slack for his poor decisions - they give him no margin within which to work. So even his bad decisions are partly their fruit. We've seen enough from KB this year to know that he's not incompetent when he has a decent amount of time.

You are right about the gameplan, but c'mon

Jan 2, 2018, 1:22 AM

let's please give the "you didn't play ball" argument a rest. Properly speaking, it's not an argument, anyway. You make a good point but many on here will use the same angle to argue against your point and similar ones - e.g. "ahh, you didn't play or coach, so how can you criticize the coaches, blah blah blah."

KB didn't play the best game in the world but he's a solid player that did a lot for us this year. I agree the game plan was complete crap. I don't mind constructively critical assessments of KB or anyone else, but I don't see this as mainly or even primarily KB's fault. For goodness sake he was running for his life half the night. How can the OC's keep asking him to drop back and make inexplicable magic happen when half of Alabama's team is gonna be in his face and on his flanks in 1.5 seconds? It's an impossible task!

Not sure why when we’re backed up we don’t rugby style punt.z have much better chance to get a roll with no return... not like we have a punter that can flip field with booming punts. One of several I put on coaches. Another was trying to pass with 2nd and 1.

It’s like our coaches got stuck between this team and last year team.

Really could go on and on.
