I blame the Seat Equity prices for the atmosphere change.

Flame away, but I think we pushed a lot of the old hell raisers out when the lower deck tickets became over a thousand a piece.

Talked to a guy last week that works for a large corporation in the area that has 25 lower deck tickets on the home side. His boss and the sales reps had given many of them to coot customers/clients.

That's just one company. Imagine how many others do the same thing.

Don't dump on the jewelry rattlers down front, Cutigers.

They may mess up their feather boas or wrinkle their sweater vests. We can't have that happening when there is cheering to be done...very quiet, respectful cheering, but cheering. I kid...sort of.

lots of pansy golf clapping going on

LOL

Also keeps the young fans from getting good seats

Nov 26, 2012, 11:40 AM

unless they've got money, because they haven't got any priority points. No offense to the older tiger fans who've had the same seats for 30 or more years, but they aren't as loud/can't stand up as long as they used to be, and the recent grads can only have so much effect on the games from the nosebleeds.

It was sad to see how many people around us in the lower bowl sold out to usc fans for a few extra bucks...I understand times are tight but people around me are always changing, I don't even know who owns the seats because they always just sell them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You think it is because times are tight????.

Nov 26, 2012, 11:49 AM

Give me a break. If people on here's excuses about selling their tickets sky high are any indication, Hangtime, "needing money" never entered the vernacular. Now "making more money" i.e. free market sure did come up alot.

Just trying to be understanding that some folks may need to recoup (no pun intended) the money they spent on tickets and then had a change of situation.

I think selling to the chickens was despicable.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I hear ya, Hangtime, and would be inclined to agree with

Nov 26, 2012, 11:55 AM

you if I saw one person, at least on here, claiming hardship, but it clearly seemed to be about,"I can't make it or I have extras and I'm going to get what the market can bring me." Infact, people against scalping to Tiger fans or whoever were actually the ones being accused by the scalpers of being govn't dependent Obama lowlifes, lol, that wanted a handout or were broke. I'm guessing a very, very small percentage of fans actually needed the cash to get a turkey on the table for Thanksgiving.

This is a very valid point.

I think the fact that every game is on tv has more to do

Nov 26, 2012, 12:18 PM

with it than anything. As much fun as games in Death Valley are, a lot of people would rather sit at home, watch it on the tube, see every play clearly, and drink freely from the comfort of their own homes, while not having to dedicate all day to it or fight the crowd. As a result, they wind up selling or giving their tickes away.

In the old days, when Death Valley was rowdy and deafening, you actually had to go to the game to see it.
