Holy Moly! Did you see this?!

Sep 3, 2017, 11:53 PM

https://www.change.org/p/clemson-students-update-clemson-student-tickets-at-football-games

Looks like the original one was removed. Every student should read this!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nice article. Sounds about right***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

the best part about the students is how they led all the cheers on Sat.

Sep 4, 2017, 8:00 AM

Orange-White,
Clemson-Tigers,

and my favorite

C-L-E-M-S-O-N in the round.

Did you hear them?
The best part of gameday in Death Valley. The students were just awesome on Saturday. /sarcasm off

It would appear that more than enough tickets were...

...allocated to the students. They just need to find a way to make sure the students who want to attend the entire football game get access to the tickets.

Good point. Wish the student government would come up with something that makes sense.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It depends on your definition of "enough." If by "enough"

Sep 4, 2017, 7:33 AM [ in reply to It would appear that more than enough tickets were... ]

you mean enough to let some student go, then yes.

My daughter, a SENIOR, and my son a sophomore(and many like them) did not receive a ticket for the Auburn game.

Of course it should "appear" obvious to anyone that something changed since last year there were no petitions and this year there are.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: It depends on your definition of "enough." If by "enough"

Sep 4, 2017, 7:57 AM

Point 1 in the article: Block Seating done away with. The Greeks and other organizations must now be like everyone else and wait for their computer to load.

Also petitions in this day and age are simple to make and distribute via social media.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They never were in "block seating."***

I believe what changed is...

the distribution method and it hasn't worked well. As I recall, Clemson went to an online system before the 2015 season and it changed a bit this year.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg2005_cws_champ.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Technically, there was 1 petition and

Sep 4, 2017, 8:18 AM [ in reply to It depends on your definition of "enough." If by "enough" ]

The author actually received a ticket for the Auburn game. She's obviously removed her petition after it got out she had nothing to complain about.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

My point is that the students who were still there...

Sep 4, 2017, 8:32 AM [ in reply to It depends on your definition of "enough." If by "enough" ]

...in the 4th quarter of the Kent St game should get priority on the Auburn tickets. The ones who will stay the entire game should get the tickets.

Scan student ID's going out after 5 minutes left of the previous game and those students get first dibs on the next game.

The pic I posted above is in the 3rd quarter.

It be awesome to have packed student sections being rowdy throughout EVERY game.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Got A point ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Sep 4, 2017, 8:36 AM

Student that sat through the entire KS game and those that didn't get KS tickets should get priority for Auburn. Those the leave AU early should not be in consideration for the next game. Whittle it down to the students that will be there !

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

THIS is a great idea !!!***

Sep 4, 2017, 8:42 AM [ in reply to My point is that the students who were still there... ]

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Don't disagree with that at all.

Sep 4, 2017, 10:12 AM [ in reply to My point is that the students who were still there... ]

But the tickets were "lotteried" last week.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: It would appear that more than enough tickets were...

Sep 4, 2017, 8:17 AM [ in reply to It would appear that more than enough tickets were... ]

The alumni and ticket buyers were just as guilty Saturday. I am one of the students that never leaves a game early, so it makes me angry and many others when most of my fellow Tigers leave early. I would guess more than a third of the stadium was missing by halftime.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL Ticket buyers have the right to do

Sep 4, 2017, 8:26 AM

what they want. Comparing ticket buyers leaving early(which they shouldn't) to Snowflakes that are gettin' freebies leaving early is just trying to change the argument ,which has been lost.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: LOL Ticket buyers have the right to do

Sep 4, 2017, 9:41 AM

There's nothing "free" about those tickets. Nearly ten years later and I'm still paying for the privilege of those "free" tickets. Don't get me wrong, it was money well spent, but if you think students are freeloading, you're delusional.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree. Hard to believe that some people can't wait 3

Kinda like the paid season ticket holders on the north side. They are as bad as usuc fans, only ours leave at halftime because we are winning and never come back.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Paid ticket holders shouldn't leave early

Sep 4, 2017, 8:30 AM

But, that's just my opinion. Free ticket getting Snowflakes are a different story and should never use what those that pay for their tickets as an excuse.

Re: It would appear that more than enough tickets were...

Sep 4, 2017, 9:45 AM [ in reply to It would appear that more than enough tickets were... ]

That's exactly what I told my wife I'm the 3rd quarter. We were on the away side on the 40, so from our view, it looked even worse than your pic. I understand it was the first game and we were winning big, but don't complain about it as a whole and then not show up to support the team. I do feel bad for the ones that didn't get a ticket that would've been there the whole game.

Couldn't be more spot-on! Sadly the liberal majority in the student body will take offense to the reality if the article and just whine & do nothing to make a difference

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Holy Moly! Did you see this?!

Sep 4, 2017, 7:54 AM

Why is it always liberal vs conservative?

The hill and student sections were full by halfway through the first quarter, and if you were outside before the game you'd know why: inadequate staff to get everybody in the gates.

Where we sat in the upper north stands was also empty because the lines reached from the gate all the way down the ramp into the blacktop pavement areas. I managed to get inside a little early. My father went to buy a program and got stuck in the line. He didn't get to our seats until halfway through the first quarter. Here's a pic I took right after he arrived; you'll notice the hill and student areas are basically full at this point.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

why? because of the whining.***

GO INTO THE STADIUM EARLIER!

You see that? That's called "resiliency" and having a "bias for action!"

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Sounds like whining to me! Here's a thought:

Sep 23, 2017, 7:57 PM

Students have a bias for getting a different kind of "action."

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Good petition, do they not do first come first serve for tickets?

Sep 4, 2017, 6:58 AM

I remember 2004-2008 we would have to camp collectively as a group for good lower deck seats and ticket distribution having long lines that could form days in advance that were first come first serve. This ensured those getting the tickets were dedicated. I also was a student at Va Tech later and they had a free lottery system for each game which was about 1:4 odds basically or you could spend $65 on student season tickets with a group of friends and sit in the same seat every game next to your friends. That worked pretty well and wasn't some ridiculous cost. For those who didn't want to spend money there was the lottery still.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: the pic says everything

Sep 4, 2017, 8:20 AM

It was Labor Day weekend with a scrimmage scheduled against Kent state. It looks like Kent state and some of our students didn't take the game seriously.

Re: the pic says everything

Sep 4, 2017, 8:21 AM [ in reply to the pic says everything ]

Yes, the pic does say everything. The pic says that none of the students could get onto the hill since they had to wait. They shut down entrance early to the hill Saturday. The lines are slow and that's the reason students weren't in their seat.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lame excuses! Get there earlier.

Sep 4, 2017, 8:24 AM

What's your excuse for the Top Deck?

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Reason being that they didn't leave

Sep 4, 2017, 8:27 AM [ in reply to Re: the pic says everything ]

their Dorms earlier. More Snowflake excuses.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Doesn't explain why the student sections were half empty

Sep 4, 2017, 8:44 AM [ in reply to Re: the pic says everything ]

from halftime on. I took lots of pictures of the student seats and regular seats throughout the 2nd half so I could compare the 2...while the IPTAY seats stayed mostly full until halfway through the 4th, the students were mostly empty.

Like someone else mentioned, it was noticeable that the traditional student led cheers were missing...great job students. SMDH.

If they aren't going to make any effort, they can just keep complaining. The only solution to their gripe is to expand the stadium at great cost. Then we can expect that many more empty seats after the half...

To pay my own way through Clemson. Only issue I ever had with Tickets was Basketball when Dale Davis and Elden Campbell were there we were decent and it was hard to get a ticket to some games. I signed this petition.
