I hate it for the team, but Battle has to be benched.

Sep 19, 2013, 11:45 PM

I don't know what you fools who applaud the suckerpunch are thinking, but it was a classless gesture that should embarrass any true CLEMSON fan. Bad for the Battle, worse for the team, awful for Clemson University.
I'm truly disgusted and only wish I could hear what those coaches are saying in the locker room tonight.
I expect a very spirited outing against WF.

right in his face jawing him. THAT is classless. Battle broke the rules, but in manlaw, what he did is acceptable.

Calling him a thug, like many have on here, is idiotic.

I am not the only one on this board who saw it!

and I think Dabo agrees judging from his reaction. The NC St. player did a little Academy Award auditioning, but that was pretty crappy to see from Battle.

idiotic is defending his actions. If you don't have the mental fortitude to look at the defender running his mouth, look at the scoreboard, then say, "this guys a joke," then you don't need to play football.

There is absolutely no excuse for his actions. I guess we can go ahead and legitimize every cheap shop in world of football if we're trying to rationalize that one...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why do you people keep calling it a cheap shot? He hit him

What kind of childhood did you people have? It's natural.

Sep 20, 2013, 12:01 AM

If you have to do SOMETHING, push the guy away from you. Don't uppercut him...this isn't freakin MMA. This is embarrsiing to our squad and doesn't look good to recruits and their families. As Kirk said, that is Bush league.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He made a dumb mistake, but I'm not upset about it as long

posts on here blasting coot players calling them thugs for just running their mouths after plays.then when one of our players uppercuts another player it gets cheered.i couldnt care less if the nc state player called him every name in the book.that doesnt justify an uppercut.its football other players are going to spout off at you.

Sep 20, 2013, 12:03 AM

I love seeing a player fight for his team. He took a cheap shot and got caught hitting back. If you knew the rule of it's always the second hit that gets flagged. This game is not soccer or more to the point hold it in your mouth till the swelling goes down.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

im sure you would be calling for the suspension..

I don't give #### as long as a player is giving all he has. But everyone knows the 2nd shot is always flagged. Hell I was pissed they called the NCST long run touchdown back. A number 3 team in he nation should be pissed the refs helped them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't recall the refs helping us at all.

Sep 20, 2013, 12:22 AM

I noticed NC State shooting themselves in the foot consistently though...

if you think that the NCST player stepped out of bounds on the long run then you need to root for tennis cause you clearly don't know football

To my understanding, if you are ejected for throwing a punch. Aren't you suspended for the next game also?

Sep 20, 2013, 1:07 AM

Have you never been in the heat of competition before? Sometimes things can happen in the heat of the moment, so you shouldn't judge Battle or call others "fools." I have competed in sports before and in the heat of the moment once I did something very unsportsmanlike against a member from the other team, and I couldn't believe I did it after the fact. It wasn't like me at all. It just happened in the heat of the moment. We all make mistakes, plain and simple.

competed intensely, but part of playing is well is keeping a level head. I may have hard charged a guy in bball, but it was a hard hit within the rules that didn't effect my whole team for more than 25 seconds.
