It apparent to me that the UGA visitors here

Apr 25, 2013, 10:43 AM

severely underestimate the speed, deception, and difficulty our offense imposes based on it's multiple formations, quick snap counts, and misdirection!! On top of that the experience level across the board of our Offensive players is much greater than the experience level of your defensive players that will take the field on Aug 31st!

Yes you guys have a good OL, but so do we don't forget that!!

Our defensive unit is returning all starters in the front 7 except for 2 players. This should make, yes I said "should", make running the ball more difficult for you. Completely shut you down....No but control it probably!

I'm just saying I think our offense versus your defense is to our advantage and our defense to your offense is closer than you think!!

I like our chances as well but I have respect for their RB's

they are pretty good...granted the OL have to block our front 7, it will be fun to be there!

This will be a classic game to open the season ... I wouldn't bet anyones paycheck on this one ... It will be wild ...

On Tigernet? Are you serious. I have seen nothing but a little friendly smack (mostly started by CU fans) ... (If you can) Go back and ready every single one of my posts. Are you sure you are not trying to work up a frenzy?

I just don't agree with the subject line of your post at all. I have actually been proud of the Georgia fans (which I can not always say) on Tigernet, especially with all the smack and disrespect for Georgia over here. (I really don't expect anything different. It is a Tiger board and I am a visitor.)

This will be a interesting game and I am willing to talk SWOT for either team ... Both teams have a little bit of it all ... (Strengths & Weakness that is.)

I agree the game should be exciting, but I have seen several

Apr 25, 2013, 1:29 PM

downplaying the ability of our offense and I am not necessarily referring to you.

There are a few that have been on this site I enjoy reading their perspective.

My post was not to stir a frenzy, but my interpretation of our O vs your D and vice versa. If I wanted a frenzy I would have said much worse and not given your Oline or RB's any credit for being good!

First of all, I am sorry if I came across strong ... I have had a TOUGH day ... tides are starting to turn now ... and this computer screen was the easiest place to release some frustration. If my job was easy, I guess anyone could do it ...

It will be interesting for Georgia in that we will rely on an early enrollee, JC transfer, and freshman to firm up a reality inexperienced D ... not totally inexperienced ... we have several guys back that did not start, but had substantial playing time. If this D does not play any better than that "group" (note: I did not say team)I will pull my hair out by the end of the season ... No by Septemeber 1.

Please accept my apology. Better you get the butt of it than my lovely wife of 24 years.

I'm betting you'll need some Rogaine on Sept. 1.

It you are correct with the outcome (a beatdown) there is not any amount of Rogaine in the world that would do me a bit of good.

I've been known to throw fruit at the front door during a game. It's not all bad, though. Sometimes the house has a great citrus aroma.

Apr 25, 2013, 1:38 PM

Underestimate? Absolutely not. I've seen the stats and the most impressive to me was the 3rd down conversion percentage. We are well aware of what Morris' offense is capable of. But to think you won't have a few hiccups replacing 5 key offensive positions especially in the season's 1st game is homerish. Remember you lost 37 tds from last years offense. Ga....only 9.

In reply to your defense.....what you're saying is Cu is returning 5 on the defensive front. However, one of those starters was your sack leader. The real question is can your front seven contain our running game w/o the help of your secondary. If that turns out not to be the case Murray will have a field day. Ga's balanced attack is going to be very difficult to defense.

Now i'm saying all this with a grain of salt....our defense was returning everyone last year and was predicted to dominate but fell way short of expectations. So bare in mind, you don't really know until you know. It's all guesswork at this point in time.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree with you on a few points....seems like we've been

Apr 25, 2013, 2:44 PM

replacing our best players on defense for about three years in a row!! We are starting to develop some depth on that side of the ball and we will be stronger against the run AND QB pressure so I'm looking forward to seeing our defense. I've always been a lover of defense but have enjoyed our explosive offense and while we don't know until we see the product on the field, this is shaping up to be a very dangerous team IF we can stay hungry!!

I think you mean grade of slaw

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Our offense will be more productive than last year's was.

Apr 25, 2013, 4:51 PM [ in reply to Re: It apparent to me that the UGA visitors here ]

The main reason is Tajh and the OL have a ton of experience now. I've seen you say several times already on TNet that we have to replace 37 TDs and UGAy only 9. The thing is, the one guy who was super-productive and will be hard to replace is Nuk. Thing is, Nuk did what he did without Sammy on the field half the time. And guess what? Sammy may very well break Nuk's records. At the other receiver positions, we're better by attrition. Ellington had a great year, but so did McDowell. Had McDowell gotten the majority of the snaps, I doubt there would have been much drop-off, if any.

I hate that Cooper tore his ACL. We'll miss him. Fact is, though, we have tons of young talent at TE. What Cooper gave us was experience. I'm still expecting we'll be good at TE.

As for defense, we had very little pass rush for the first half of the season, including from Mallaciah Goodman, to whom you refer. No biggie. Vic Beasley is the man. And we have a lot more depth at DE now. Not only that, but we started getting sacks from the interior of the DL late in the season. All those guys are back plus a few more.

Our secondary will not be the liability it was last year. I guarantee that. Major improvement is coming. Besides getting Breeland and Jenkins back from injury, we've got a load of talent coming in. At least a couple of the newbs will be ready to play.

What you leghumpers need to get through your heads is that y'all will be able to match us for about 60-65 snaps. After that, you won't have near enough depth to slow us down. So, even if you do manage to hold a lead after, say, the first 40 minutes of the contest, there will be no stopping us after your D is spent.

I gotta say that the few I have seen around here are a lot less arrogant than the LSU fans who magically appeared and disappeared last season, and they certainly seem to know a lot more about football than their coot brethren.
Hats off to them for that, and for not doing the "SEC yadda yadda SEC I swing from the conference's sack blah blah SEC" BS.

We will disappear in time. One thing is for sure - win, lose, or draw I will be here on the 1st.

"IF" Clemson does beat us you can bet that I will root for you guys the rest of the season. I want ANY team that beats us to win out ... takes a little pain out of a loss ... over time.

Just enjoy talking football and as it stands right now we both seem to be headed for big seasons regardless of the outcome of our upcoming game. It is w/o a doubt one of the best matchups for the 2013 season. Too bad we have to settle this in the 1st game of the year. Man, I just wish it was August already.

I am fully anticipating a 56-0 BEAT DOWN

In favor of the Tigers. When the game is over, and they change programs back to the ESPN booth, I expect to see Rece Davis and Lou Holtz with a shocked expression on their face with Mark May just smiling.

Folks here it is!!

Jawja has a SCARY GOOD offense loaded (Murray, Marshall, Gurley) and they will score points!

With that said, so do WE!! Tajh Boyd is every bit as good (if not better than Murray). No sane Mutt fan can even remotely argue that....without sounding like a moron.

Now! We have Sammy, Peake, Humphries, and Bryant. Arguably the best corps in football. We also have McDowell who will just as effective as Ellington. We too, will score some points.

The TWO X-factors in this game will be Travis Blanks and MacKenzie Alexander (who will staet as a Freshman) so our secondary is not as "suspect" as Dawg fans would love to think.

As for Jawja's D??? You simply cannot think that replacing 9 starters on Defense bodes well for chances of victory in Death Valley against a team that will be ranked just above you or just below you.

Good luck with that!!

GO TIGERS!!!
