Skalski

Oct 12, 2021, 10:31 AM

I have no idea whether he plans to become a future coach but I think he would make a great lb coach. He's the only person that I can think of that might come close to having coach Venables' intensity.

There have been several Clemson LBs under Coach Venables

that seemed to take on his intensity. Spencer Shuey, Ben Boulware, and James Skalski, just to name three of the most recent. :)

I hope Skalski gets a shot in the pros, but probably not. They will say he lacks necessary speed.

I was referring to him having alot of intensity as a coach.

I haven't seen any of the other guys coaching but yes, most of our leaders on defense have been very intense, as well.

He is significantly more athletic than ben boulware though - i think he goes late rounds and has a decent shot.

I always thought Dorian O'Daniel would make a great coach***

Re: Skalski is special

In the Butkus era, he would be a starter and all-pro candidate. In today’s passing NFL, he may lack the speed. Skalski knows his 40 and shuttle times - and these will be as big a factor as his toughness and many years of tape. So Skalski will be ready for his next steps. Wish him the best and appreciate all he has done for Clemson on the field.

Amen CT. He is obviously the primary leader on this team. Seems that Bresee was the other main leader so it hurts even worse to lose him. They are the Wilkins/Bouleware equivalent of this team. Now if offense could get some comsistency, we should see some leaders emerge there too.
