Interesting. Goodrich was the announcer for Wofford, Ole Miss and Southern Miss too and a member of the Mississippi Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Would love to have heard one of his calls.

Old school announcers Phillips (CU) Fulton (USC) Munson(UGA) and John Ward (Tennessee) are the ones I remember picking up on the radio when I was a kid.

I remember back when he broadcast NASCAR races as well. Great at that. He was the chielf announcer on Motor Racing Network (radio). When NASCAR races startled being regularly broadcast on TV he was asked why he wasn't a major announcer on ESPN races.

He replied, "I have a face made for radio."
