To those of you whining & challenging Dabo's

Nov 19, 2014, 11:47 AM

claim that Cole gives us the best chance to win, I have one question for you. How do you know that our walk-on backup would give us a better chance to win?

I agree that my deceased grandmother could have performed better than Cole did against Georgia Tech, but I don't know on what basis you can claim that Nick (with practically zero experience) would give us a better chance.

You are asking the wrong question

After the GT game - the narrative changed from"how do we know that the other guy can do any better?" to "how is it possible that the other guy can do any worse?"

When someone spots the other team 2 scores - and this after week after week of skill regression - does it not make sense to at least give the other guy an opportunity to succeed or fail.

TPLE: No one can say that Nick will do better but I will say one thing--he threw the down and outs to the sideline with more velocity than Cole has all year. I say let us see him for half a game against GState. In my heart, I do not believe we can beat the Coots with Cole at QB. Hopefully DW plays but if not looks like we're doomed.

You completely contradicted your own argument....

I didn't contradict myself. It is possible to believe

(as I do) that almost anyone could've performed better than Cole did against GTECH, but that was just one anomalous game, and while he hasn't looked great in other games, he didn't look that horrendous until last Saturday. Therefore, I don't believe you can say that Nick gives us a better chance to win game-in & game-out. Sure, he might've given us a better chance against Tech (as would anyone), but that doesn't mean that Cole shouldn't start, because on any given Saturday he may give us a better chance than the guy who has practically never played.

"on any given Saturday he may give us a better chance than the guy who has practically never played. "

So you think he might but you can't definitively say that he does?

My point is only that it is silly to complain about Dabo

Nov 19, 2014, 1:01 PM

placing more faith in someone with the experience of Cole Stoudt over Nick Schussler. I'm not saying that Nick wouldn't be better, but I have nothing on which to believe that he would, and therefore I have no reason to be critical of Dabo.

"How do you know that our walk-on backup would give us a better chance to win?"

We don't know. That's the point. What good does it do anyone to NOT give him a chance and to continue to run Stout out there to further fail? That is idiocy.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe because Stout is a better QB than Schussler?

Nov 19, 2014, 12:11 PM

The armchair coaches are so amusing.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How many less pick 6's...

Nov 19, 2014, 12:49 PM

did Nick throw in the GT game than Cole? Maybe that's why those who are paying attention would like to give him a shot.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

And I'm sure that Nick Schussler will get plenty of snaps

Nov 19, 2014, 12:30 PM [ in reply to Re: To those of you whining & challenging Dabo's ]

in the 2nd half. If he really is better, we'll know it before we face the coots.

So in the words of Aaron Rodgers, RELAX!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

people are complaining about the wrong thing....

Nov 19, 2014, 12:30 PM

complaining about who starts between Cole and Nick is laughable

they should be asking how in dahayell our offense is so bad when our true frosh QB who didn't win the job in fall camp goes down

"I've been working since I was 15 continually until now. I worked 40 hours a week at 15, when it wasn't even legal for 15 year olds to work that many hours."

I agree with this. I can't believe how much difference

Nov 19, 2014, 12:36 PM

one player (even as QB) makes on this team. I think it just shows us how very good Deshaun really is.

I think everyone here just needs to RELAX!

The fact is, we're not "too deep" at QB this year & thus we're having a down year. If a down year for us means 8 or 9 regular season wins, then I think our program is in pretty darn good shape. We struggled for a decade to win more than 8 games in a season. I haven't forgotten that, and so I'm going to reserve ranting & raving & organizing a march on Bowman until we have more than one down year of only 9 wins...

Dabo said it when DW has healthy as well, it's not a new

Well, we were right earlier when we called for Watson....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

^^^HAHAHA yeah, and you're calling for Nick for the same

Nov 19, 2014, 12:43 PM

reasons? That's ridiculous.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: ^^^HAHAHA yeah, and you're calling for Nick for the same

Nov 19, 2014, 12:49 PM

Oh, I didn't say anything about the reasons... I'm just pointing out the fan base has a better record picking starting QBs this year than the coach.
Draw whatever conclusions from that that you will.
