Kantor: Football storylines I’m looking forward to most in 2021

Following Clemson’s last National Championship, the offseason felt so short. There was a parade with sentimental speeches and countless reasons to look back and appreciate all the sub-plots like Austin Bryant playing through injury. Clemson fans were rightfully soaking in the glory and in no rush to turn the page to the 2019 season. This year is different. Full Story »

I'm probably being petty, but I hope Clemson gives Florida State their worst loss ever. I got so sick of watching them act like a bunch a jack-holes when they came to Clemson during the Bowden years, and listening to ESecPN talk about what a wonderful coach and man Bobby was. It may not be P.C. to do the old cheer anymore, but it is still "Great to Hate Florida State".

Trenton Simpson will be an upgrade on the defense this year as well as Booth, Jones and Davis Jr more involved in the secondary with DK gone. As long as we stay healthier in the front 7 this year I think we'll be alot better. Only hope is the Safety play has improved.

I’m not real excited to hear about Ross catching punts unless he is going to fair catch every punt he gets a shot at. I pray we get him back & he stays healthy.

Agreed! You can get some viscous hits as a punt returner including whiplash.
I realize WR can be dangerous as well but let's not make it twofold.

I love the no fear attitude coming back from an injury. But coming back from a neck surgery to play slot receiver AND kick returner seems a bit aggressive. Im sure coaches/doctors wouldn’t allow the move if they had any medical reason not too. Just hoping one if the young bucks (thinking Shipley) comes through as a valid option and we don't have to use our most talented receiver for return game down the stretch.

First of all, with the way FSU backed out playing Clemson this past season in FB, I expect them to look for, and find a way to get out of playing Clemson this next season. With all the canceling of games during FB season, and only their very first game in Basketball canceled during their basketball season before there was a covid vaccine. FSU has a good BB team, and they played all of their schedule games with the exception of game #1. And this leaves me to believing that if they have a good team, covid stays a way, they had a terrible FB team, and they were as they said, plagued with covid outbreaks, or a "ONE someone" comes up positive from the team they were supposed to played and they would cancel that game.

I personally believe that FSU coaches knew how bad their team was, and they used the covid pandemic to quit FB in the 2020 season. They put on their jerseys that had a yellow stripe down the back, and they quit!!!!
