prospects and offer them the following

1. A chance to play in the ACC
2. A chance to start and play as much as you want
3. A chance to be great one year and if you don't like it go pro

And if that doesn't work I am going to do what everyone else is doing and drop a wad of cash in his hand.

This is like scar playing in the SEC, but getting zero top recruits. Hell Vandy football is getting recruits just because they play in the SEC.

Why is it so hard for us to do the same?

Lmao....OK....I'll bite

In one year in the past decade we recruited 3 players that were supposed to be decent. ONE FREAKING YEAR IN THE PAST DECADE..ACTUALLY ABOUT TWO DECADES Honestly go back and look at whatever site your looking at. You will see we have sucked for over a decade in recruiting. Even OP didn't do a great job of it.

If a middle aged white guy at Baylor can recruit lights out to Waco, TX we should be able as well

How Baylor is not on probation idk, I do know Drew may be

the most despised coach in America other than Calipari for his recruiting practices. They do work though. We don't get, lets say, top 50 recruits regularly? Because by and large they go to the powers or large state schools. We get a 4 star guy, top 100-150, pretty much every year. Tates Locke got them here, but we know how he did it. Ellis got Sharone Wright and Ricky Jones. But by and large our best players have been, and probably always will be 3-4 star guys we grow in to good players. I wish it were different. My point in listing the 3 I did in the original post is the rankings don't really mean squat, at least for us. Our best players throughout the last 30 years; Billy Williams, Larry Nance, Horace Grant, Elden Campbell, Dale Davis, Greg Buckner, Trevor Booker all have been 3-low 4 star guys. Nance wouldn't have even been a 2 star. We need a coach that can spot unrefined talent and refine it, always have. I think we have one, he's just working with most of these guys as freshmen and sophs. Tough for a non basketball school to win with no upperclassmen to speak of. At least Booker is playing hard, Jennings is just a waste

God, you sound like an SEC football recruiter

I agree, the recruiting in mens basketball is

sub par and very sad. Some body needs to go earn their pay or resign. I love BB and think he is a solid coach but cmon..... There are programs out there with less facilities than us and in worse conferences and do more. This is insane and its high time we have more from basketball. Sure we are a football school, but there is no reason we cant be both.

I would take a couple just like Terrance Oglesby! May not

have been the greatest defender but could shoot or find a way to make a play. Don't get me wrong, defense is important. By the same token, I can't think of any sport you can in win if you can't score!

Rooks in the upcoming class is that kind of shooter

and not a head case

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'll take one like that too. That's good to hear.***
