Team only has 1 more loss than typical Clem team would have?

I'll add based on this year's schedule. From a shallow look you'd say no way because we typically are undefeated or have just 1 loss during the regular season right? However, think about this. Yes we've won 2 Natties in the last 7 or 8 years, but for the most part we have been the 2nd or 3rd best team in the country. If UGA is a dominate as everybody says they are, it would be like scheduling Bama the first game of the year in previous years. Most Clemson teams of the past would lose that game. Secondly, it is not out of the ordinary for a Clemson team to lose 1 close in conference game on the road. As good as NC State is this year and as tough as they have played us in years past, an overtime game lost to them would not be a head scratcher.

I could argue a typical Clemson team would likely be 8-2 now instead of 7-3 with this schedule. Even though Pitt is pretty good, that would be a game we'd usually win. Now the Clemson teams of old would have dominated most of the teams we've squeaked by this year, but looking strictly at the record I think overall we'd likely only have 1 less lost up to this point in the season.

We have gone into the CFP undefeated 3 times in the last 6 years and with 1 loss the other 3.
So this season is far from normal over the last 6 years

The point is that, for all but the last 6 years of Clemson's "recent" history + the 1978 & 1981 seasons, Clemson has lost 2 or more games.

The 2021 schedule should have been a cake walk (outside of UGA) with all our talent vs opponents talent levels

Just most teams. Every year, whether it's Syracuse, NC State, BC or Louisville we either lose or squeak by on a close call no matter how good or talented we are compared to the competition.

I disagree, you have bought into the ESPN narrative that The ACC is never any good. Bull!
Especially this year with all of the super seniors.
I believe Clemson Does have superior talent but other schools do give scholarships .
It is hard to win!
This should make you appreciate what Dabo and his staff have accomplished!

I also think this may be his best coaching yet!

sorry, please don't take it personally. It's not just the 3 losses, it's how bad we've played this year overall on offense mainly.

People are breaking their necks to defend the indefensible pointing to the three losses.

We've had some God-awful 8-3 teams at Clemson and this ain't one of them but we ain't good either. It's a championship defense with an SC State-type offense.
