Hunter is a win win all around....

Jan 17, 2022, 3:14 PM

Worst, worst, worst case.... DJU doesn't improve much and Cade isn't ready. Hunter gives us a decent option with an older guy.

Likely scenario, DJU improves, Cade gets a year to add weight and learn the playbook, and Hunter is a great presence in the QB room.

He barely started in three years at NW. He is a reliable back-up and knows the Clemson culture.

Really excited about this move. Everyone wins.

If sitting on the bench is a win, you are right.
Makes no sense to me. Other than Education.

HJ ate his humble pie when he was benched at NW. He is coming for an MBA. Playing one more year is a bonus. He reached out to Dabo for a GA position.

Is he a competitor and would he want to start? Of course he does.... but him not coming to June for summer says a lot.

Agree with everything you said, plus it says loud and clear

to the football world and families of recruits. Here's a kid that loved being at Clemson and loved the culture. He leaves because of obvious playing time issues with one spring view of freshman Trevor Lawrence. Now, years later, he still sees Clemson as that great place where he's like to be to go for another degree, become a coach, and play out is eligibility. You never go back to a place unless you had very fond memories of your time there.

Most likely

...scenario is DJU doesn't improve enough and Cade ends up as the starter.

If that happens and DJ were to transfer, HJ sure would come in handy. Even if DJ doesn't transfer, HJ will come in handy.

Unless Cade gets injured, he's not going to RS. In fact, I'd venture to guess that a healthy Cade is more likely transfer than RS.

If DJ Sucks It Hard Again, I Don't Think Anyone Would Want

Let's pull for DJU to be the QB we saw his freshman year. He obviously can do it. If Cade is the number one, he will play. If it is a tie or DJU is the number one, it will be DJU.

Its easy to say this season's offensive struggles was DJU. There were too many variables with the o line, the WR, etc to know for sure. Let's hope the O-line gels and the WR block and catch the balls in their catch radius so we can figure out who the best man is to take snaps to give the 2022 Tigers the best chance to win.

Let's hope they all play lights out and are injury-free. With the defense we have coming back, we are set up nicely.

This is good, we will have 3 options @ QB. It also might turn into a Qb change @ 4th game. Last time that happened ??.......

However, he was voted captain last year, which is all

we need to know about his leadership qualities. He can be like another coach for the QB room.
