an astounding array of highly advanced microprocessors capable of making billions of choices per second about who lives and dies. Or at least he built this computer that runs these algorithms while he's playing golf. I mean...that's a lot of responsibility. I hope He has a good audit system in place.
What's it like going through life under the assumption that every single thing you do is predetermined, controlled, and monitored? That seems abnormally creepy and disconcerting.

I don't think most things are pre-determined. There is free will and such. People have choices and I'm a believer that things are much more random - Jeff Goldblum, chaos theory, Jurassic Park and such.
And I think He is more into open source and a Linux user.

God as Big Brother

I'm not so sure that it shouldn't be much creepier and much more disconcerting going through life under the assumption that nothing grounds anything you do, and that nobody who isn't you that can make things matter much cares what you do. Atheist philosophers of nihilism and radical freedom certainly didn't think being unknown by a god was a comforting feeling. Sartre called the feeling of radical freedom "nausea;" Nietzsche hauntingly said that radical freedom was like looking into an "abyss" and having the abyss "look back into you."
None of which is to say which situation is better. But let's not pretend that there's nothing creepy about an atheistic world.

"going through life under the assumption that nothing grounds anything you do"
And if God equals the opposite, he's as bad at his job as the weather man.

At the risk of getting attacked for bringing up philosophy when somebody asks a philosophical question, I don't think there's any meaningful way of grounding our actions without a theology. That's why those atheist philosophers that Ineligible thinks are such morons ended up being existentialists and nihilists.
And, while I have no idea what you're trying to say about grounding things and incarceration, the point of the article I posted was that God isn't the surveilling God of morality that somebody like Nietzsche or 19B would criticize.
