He's far and away the more talented of the two players. I'm sure by FSU, Ammon we'll be back doing his thing. Good thing we have Greg for the foreseeable future though.

Lakip was horrible to begin last season ... he got better as

Sep 23, 2015, 8:32 PM

the season progressed, but so far, Huegel's kicks (even his misses) have been much better than Lakip's were at this same stage last season.

While Huegel has hit all of his kicks solid and straight, Lakip snap-hooked his and just looked terrible at times before he got things worked out.

Maybe Huegel will have a slump down the road and Lakip will overtake him, but right now he's doing really well and Lakip hasn't actually kicked in a game since last year.

Huegel looks better to me.***

I hope Lakip gets his chance to redeem himself as his college career winds down. But I hear Dabo's response, can't blame our kick offs on the overall kick off performance.

I have much more confidence in Huegel

Sep 24, 2015, 1:39 AM

So far from what I've seen. Like someone else said, Huegel hasn't shanked a single kick and he competed all spring and won the job over Spence - who if I'm not mistaken was given a scholarship to kick. I say let the bilo kicker go win the game for us.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Huegel basically hit (4-7) 57%. Last year, Lakip hit 75%.

Sep 24, 2015, 2:55 AM

Two of Huegel's misses were called back for retries (5 yards closer) due to off-sides, but I don't think the off-sides actually affected his kicks, so it's kind of like getting away with a crime on a technicality.

I'm not saying Lakip is better. But from what we fans have seen, I don't think we could say Huegel is better-- especially since his data set is so small.

Here are Lakip's stats.

He hit what he hit. Who is to say the offsides didn't throw off the snap or his timing?

SO, YOU ARE COUNTING THE KICKS THAT NEVER HAPPENED. SMFH AT SOME OF YOU GOOBERS.

Truly a sad, sad case.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

I understand counting all of Huegel's kicks since his sample set is so small, but if you are counting all of Huegel's kicks, even misses that didn't count, shouldn't you do the same for Lakip?

Would anyone but me be amazed if Razz actually came up with something positive to say about our program?

Compare Lakip's first 10 tries to Huegel's and a clearer

Sep 24, 2015, 12:46 PM [ in reply to Huegel basically hit (4-7) 57%. Last year, Lakip hit 75%. ]

picture comes through.

Huegel's misses have been very close (strong and straight) while Lakip's technique and results were all over the place. Huegels close misses had a chance of being good with just a slight adjustment, while Lakip's misses were unbelievably bad.

Huegel has earned the start until he begins missing (and missing badly) on a routine basis.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Come on Razz, you cant use logic and facts in here, these

TNet morons dont understand it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I do as well. Lakip's misses were duck hooks into the woods.

Sep 24, 2015, 6:24 AM [ in reply to I have much more confidence in Huegel ]

Huegel's misses are just a matter of fine tuning.

were huge. It was his second game ever lining up for a FG. Until proven otherwise, I think he is THE man.
