How to beat Pitt? Run the dang ball

The way you beat Pitt is do not play tempo. Run the ball 40-50 times mix in quick passes and jet sweep. Do not go away from the run Tony Elliot would call run plays that’s getting 4-7yds a carry against Pitt then he call a pass that ended in a sack or incomplete pass and the drive died. Bottom line is run the ball be creative doing it and eat the clock limiting the possessions Pitt has. And the defense will do the rest that is how you beat Pitt.

So, you pulled out Coach Howard's old playbook and dusted it off. Howard coached the Clemson Tigers for 30 years, amassing the 15th most wins of any college football coach. So, it still might work.

We can't run the ball on third and two.

The OL forgets to block guys and we lose a couple of yards.

Run heavy is ok but you have to mix in the pass to keep them honest.

If you are running the ball and eating clock, you have to play mistake free football and not turn it over. I'm not sure that's us this season.

Same formula as teams have used against us back when we had an offense. Win time-of-possession. Wear out their defense. Keep their potent offense off the field. We are not going to get it done with a pass-heavy game plan for sure.
