Quinn Ewers sold out his high school teammates and reclassified as a 2021 recruit so that he could go ahead and start collecting NIL checks right away instead of after his high school senior football season. Ewers was pretty much the unanimous top QB, now that he’s reclassified to 2021 Cade gets the nod by default. Since he was already the 33rd player, and first 4 star, it also resulted in him getting another star.
As an aside I wonder how Ewer’s teammates feel about their buddy taking the money and running? I bet they had visions of a state title knowing they had the #1 QB in the country on their side. Gotta suck to get let down like that by someone who was supposed to be your brother. If I was one of his future teammates at 0310 State I’d have that in the back of my mind.

LOL - you are trying way too hard. The rankings are not static and Cade jumped the other QB's committed to SEC and Big Ten schools to take his proper ranking based on performance to date. I could take the bias position that Ewers hauled tail because after Cade out performed him head to head on the field last year he didn't feel like he could beat him this year and ran away.

Straight from the Rivals article:
Gorney's Take: With Quinn Ewers reclassifying to the 2021 class and going to Ohio State early, Cade Klubnik takes the mantle as the No. 1 quarterback in this class after earning five-star status following a strong summer.
And if you look at 247s player rankings you’ll see he’s the 32nd or last 5 star which means if Ewers was still in the ‘22 class then Cade would still be a 4 star in their rankings
Now 247’s composite may not have updated yet to reflect the rivals changes so we’ll see if he moves up in those rankings as well.

to come back to high school when he doesn't have to and play for free instead of collecting the money as soon as he can.
As a capitalist, I think he made the right decision. If his teammates don't like it, they can move to Venezuela.

"...I wonder how Ewer’s teammates feel about their buddy taking the money and running? I bet they had visions of a state title knowing they had the #1 QB in the country on their side..."
Ewer's teammates had ample opportunity last season...but it wasn't NIL that kept them from winning a state title...it was when they had to play against Klubnik.

We have a good number of fans from other teams hanging out over a Tigernet because true Clemson fans are so awesome!
Let’s argue that other QB’s who performed worse than the one we chose are better ????
Just because he was better on the field in head to head competition doesn’t count.....lol

All Cade did was defeat him at every turn
