How many think Putin is going to invade Ukraine soon?

Dec 30, 2021, 10:45 AM

If Biden doesn't act fast by imposing economic and military restrictions immediately he will. He should suspend the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline; cutting Russia's ties with international banking system and sanction Putin's oligarch buddies.

Militarily we should increase the delivery of defensive weapons to Ukraine (helicopters, antitank and antiaircraft, as well as missiles that could attach Russian ships moving Russian troops). American troops will not be part of the equation.

This must happen immediately as it would be ineffective after an invasion has begun.

Is Biden up to the task? I hope so, but I'm skeptical of his commitment vis-a-vis his obvious impairment and loss of personal imitative (being controlled by outside (staff, etc). In other words, I don't think he's capable of appreciating the danger to him and America that Putin poses.

Recall that Obama warned Putin (with severe consequences) in 2014 IF he invaded Ukraine. Two weeks later Putin invaded the Crimea Peninsula and claimed it for Russia! Will history repeat? IF it does, Ukraine is toast!

God help us. I venture to suggest if Trump was president, Putin wouldn't dare invade Ukraine under any circumstances. Biden clearly doesn't have backbone to challenge Putin credibly.

Recall that the Russians know, as any American with a brain does, that Biden is seriously impaired and is unequivocally the the weakest president in history. Time for Putin to make his move.

Hope I'm wrong.

HNY

we're talking 400 million rich Europeans vs. 150 million impoverished Russians.

Again, why does the USA care about Ukraine?

Yes, when I think of Trump I think...standing up to Russia.

As far as Putin goes, who knows? He'll take a big hit but then, so will Biden, even though Biden really doesn't have the power to stop Putin. That's Putin's backyard and NATO will only defend NATO interests, which Ukraine is not. If Putin decides to take the economic and political hit there's not a whole lot we can do.

I guess it depends what Putin decides the cost/benefit ratio of invasion is. So the ball's really in Vlad's court, however much you want to rant and rave.

Wrong again. Miura will have the last laugh; mark it down.

There couldn't be a better time for Putin to embarrass a weakened and impaired Biden who clearly is not in control in the WH. Not to mention his incompetent military brass that carried out the Kabul Debacle.

Will be messy for America.
