How many spots do we have open for 2018, and who do we get?

We have 11 committed. I think Venables could Grey shirt if needed.

We graduate 9. I think we could see another 3 leave early (Hyatt, Wilkins, Cain).

We could have 2-3 transfer. It's happened before. We also have a few that are on a 1 year scholarship.


So, do we have room for another 3-4 out of the list below? Who are the mostly likely candidates to join the program? I've listed them below by their respective overall rankings on Rivals:

#3 - Patrick Surtain (DB)
#10 - Jamaree Salyer (OL)
#14 - Jackson Carman (OL)
#15 - Cade Mays (OL) - Flip?
#19 - Justyn Ross (WR)
#23 - KJ Henry (DE)


I would love to see us pick up Surtain, Salyer, Ross and Henry.


Any thoughts?

I’m afraid the Salyer ship has all but sailed unless something dramatically changes. Kirby is somehow preventing him from taking any visits to other schools. Wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t show up for his Clemson official later this year.

We have a better chance of getting Cade Mays at this point.

I don't feel good about Salyer or Surtain.

I think we'll get Henry and probably Mays.

Ross and Carman would be nice, but I think they are toss-ups. We probably have a better shot at Ross than Carman at this point, but pulling either of those two out of their respective states will not be an easy feat for us.
