How many Baseball Championships equals one in football?

I say 5. And they have to be in a row. If you win 5-6, but mess up on the 5th try and win it on the 6th, it doesn't count.

How many apples equal an orange?

Since you can't convert one into the other it seems pointless. Me personally, I would hate to NEVER EVER be the best in football no matter how many baseball tournaments or other sports we won. Football is THE sport.

but I digress.
How old are you by the way? I'm only asking to see if you were actually alive when Clemson was the best in football.

Regardless, there is no denying that SCAR's baseball ...

... has been pretty dominating the last 3 years. And has been playing at a very consistent and high level since Tanner took over the program. Basically, he is just a really good coach I think.
If they win again this year, they will be in the same conversation as the real USC's baseball teams from the early 70's I believe (didn't they win several CWS championships?) and other programs that have had dominating years (Rice, Texas, CS-Fullerton, Oregon State, Miami, etc.).

notoriety-wise nationally, probably infinite

if a school won ten+ baseball, tennis, soccer, softball, etc championships, it doesn't add up to ONE football championship when it comes to national publicity and exposure.
How many women's basketball championships (which gets FAR more pub than college baseball) did Connecticut/Tennessee have to win to get put in the national consciousness? How about UNC women's soccer?
Oregon State won back-to-back baseball championships in 2006 and 2007. How much national swag did that get them? Who even remembers that?
So there's your answer. Win ONE football championship and you're in the big-boy sports arena. People are familiar with EVERY school that's won a football NC in their lifetime, or even further back. Basketball, it probably takes 2 or 3. Other sports....meh.

to diminish their accomplishments. We'd, or most of us, would be thumping our chests like crazy if we'd made a baseball run like they are making.

The coots 2 CWS trophys equal our 2 soccer championships. In the grand scheme, neither approach a football or basketball trophy.
