How far the mighty ACC has fallen

Feb 1, 2013, 5:17 PM

At one time the ACC tournament was the crown jewel of college sports. Because of it the ACC was the richest league in the country. Now, the tournament is so disrespected that neither Madison Square Garden nor the Barclay's center are interested in hosting it. This, despite the presence of Syracuse, Pitt, Notre Dame and Boston college in the league. How the mighty have fallen.

enough self-flagellation

I'm not flagellating my self.

(that sounded wrong), and it's not the ACC necessarily. Basketball does not have the market power it once had. I personally have never been much of a b-ball fan. Seems the rest of the country agrees.

I disagree. The ACC will be the best conference next year

In basketball.

that changes in a year (and it won't be close to #2)

Sometimes I think our fans are our own worse enemies

concerning the ACC. You would think that the ACC was going to implode tomorrow which is absolutely ridiculous.

Your logic is boggling. NY has never been part of the ACC.
Why don't we take the "Masters" from Augusta and play it in Chicago in April?

It happened when they moved it from Greensboro. It hasn't been the same since.
