How does NCST get better player than Clemson?

Nov 27, 2021, 10:10 AM

Their OL is clearly better and emezie is the kind of WR that Clemson needs because he doesn’t spend the season injured. HTF does a clown like Doreen get these kids?

Oh ye of myopic faith.

What has been their record for the past three years. Were their OL and WRs just as good then?

A “program “ is about more than just this 1 season.

And BTW how many receptions did EE have last night? Or are your observations based solely on the final 2?

Look. Every 4-5 years NCS and WF and UNC etc have good teams. In between they’re building. It’s actually a pretty good plan to follow if you’re not CU, FSU or UM. Even then they usually need help to win a trophy.

But that’s OK. It restores balance in the universe.

I believe scholarships only go too ...

Very talented, highly regarded football player prospects out of high school. Its used as an incentive for those players to go to your school and play football for your school. Yes, its a different, weird, concept.

Perspectives have changed rather quickly. A year ago we were trying to compete with Bama, UGA, OSU, etc. for the elite recruits to shoot for a top 5 class. Now we are trying to keep pace with UNC or discussing other conference teams talent level. One year does not make a trend but we won't come close to filling the number of available scholarships we now have available with top tier players. No, it will not be a top ten class IMO and we are not even mentioning top 5 in recent months. Hope it's a 1 year blip.

Hello whisper,

Am I correct with my interpretation of your message as being that Clemson is not signing enough 4* and 5* HS players, and that we are settling for the dregs (i.e., 3* players) who have no talent?

Take the time to do this:
Look carefully at Clemson's recruiting classes from 2014 through 2021. You will see numerous 3* players. Now, look carefully at those 3* players and investigate them for (1) playing time and (2) getting to the NFL (even if in a minor capacity).

You will see that Clemson's 3* players have a high rate of major playing time in college, and a respectable rate of reaching the NFL in some capacity.

Of course, you don't need to research Clemson's football success since 2014. So you know that Clemson has had superior players (along with outstanding coaching) to lead us to staggering success.

(***) What this tells you is that when Clemson fills out its recruiting class with those useless 3* players, in fact they recognize something that the know-it-all recruiting services do not recognize ... i.e., talent that is either already manifest or potential talent that can be developed by a good program.

Good luck in your research; with your interest in Clemson football you'll be glad to check this out for yourself.

I am not talking about past history or past success. I am talking about this years signing class. I simply said IMO it will not be a consensus top ten class as some of the prior classes have been. We will have at least 25 open scholarships and we have 14 commitments. This will not be a UGA or Bama class - not predicting how the "back up plan" or portal players might fare. Simply focused on recruiting ranking. Obviously, we have our share of issues so yes, I would feel better if a top 5 class was coming in to fill some of the holes. Maybe it's a one year blip. The portal math and NIL is all new to everyone.

Nailed it Danny. I was going to say something along this line earlier in the Wade Woodaz thread. But I figured it wasn't worth my time because people seem to lack logic. So, thank you for saving me some precious time.
