How do they give Bama home field advantage??

Dec 3, 2017, 12:41 PM

Tuscaloosa is closer to Nolo than we are.

Are you going to say the same thing if it's Clemson vs Georgia in Atlanta?

No need to be scared of where you're playing. Line up and play. This team will be healthy and can take care of business no matter where they play.

Don’t be naive

Dec 3, 2017, 12:50 PM

Alabama is a short 4hr drive to New Orleans. Clemson is twice as far. They have rewarded a lower ranked team that didn’t even play in their conference championship and has one of the worst SOS’s in the top 10 with a virtual home field advantage in the semis.

I hope we stomp them and our team doesn’t care where or who we play. But to say that this is fair is bull.

We could've played in the Rose, Dabo chose to play in the Sugar because of the travel.

It's not like Clemson fans won't have the chance to buy just as many tickets, or like we won't travel.

you don't think that clemson fans will be there?***

Pasadena is closer also. So was Tampa last year.***

You seem to care about being contrarian more than you do

Dec 3, 2017, 1:59 PM

looking out for Clemson's best interest. Do you honestly feel that playing Alabama in New Orleans is advantageous for Clemson, as the #1 team?

Regarding your examples, saying that the Rose Bowl is closer to Tuscaloosa than to Clemson is silly. Pasadena is a 28 hour drive from Tuscaloosa, not several hours as the Sugar Bowl is.

Your Tampa example from last year is irrelevant, because the national championship location isn't chosen to benefit the #1 team.

Make no mistake, Clemson will be ready to play and will have a great performance against Alabama. But it won't be because we were given any advantages by the committee as a result of our #1 ranking.

Clemson's best interest is playing in NO. We

Have an opportunity to have as many fans as Bama in NO. I'd love to have Charlotte as the site but since that ain't possible I am being contrary to ready made excuses.

Ask Dabo if he thinks different.

He’s 100% correct and one of the only rational people on this site. There’s only 2 places we can play and it’s the best choice for us. Shocker Dabo made the right choice and tnet is freaking out about something dumb.

If it is a home game for Alabama then that is great. We play our best ball against ranked teams on the road.

We are the home team

Dec 3, 2017, 1:51 PM

but make no doubt, Bama fans will be plentiful as it's only 4 hours away.

I was at the Fiesta Bowl last season. Ohio State outnumbered Clemson fans 70/30, maybe more. It’s didnt matter then, and it won’t matter this time.

Both sides are going to sell out no matter what. The only drawback to Sugar is the relatively dangerous place that the Big Easy becomes after dark. Stick to the tourist areas, tigers.

Re: How do they give Bama home field advantage??

Dec 3, 2017, 2:54 PM

How are the tickets divided? I'm pretty sure that each team is not given half the seating capacity to sell. The Sugar Bowl will control the majority of the tickets and guess which conference alums will get those tickets. I'll bet that even some coots get Sugar Bowl tickets every year. The SEC Crimson Tide will be there in force. I'm sure Dabo knows that, but we won't be scared or intimidated.

GO TIGERS!
