How difficult would it be to get the students to not buy

Apr 13, 2016, 3:28 PM

the lower deck tickets? As a protest. What would the AD do if there was nobody on the hill or lower deck student section?

Any way to rally them to commit to not buy tickets?

As the number decreases the seats get better for those that do pay. Also still haven't hammered home that the release didn't say this was the only way to get a lower deck ticket. Just the only way to guarantee one. I don't think you will see an empty section anytime soon.

You're right. I just don't like this decision...at all.

Apr 13, 2016, 3:49 PM

I'm contacting the AD and all the big $ IPTAY people I know to try to get them to reconsider, though I'm sure it won't matter to anyone at the AD...it's all about $ to them.

As the cost to attend games goes up and the coaches salaries skyrocket, I am much less inclined to send in my IPTAY money or buy season tickets. Now this. I'm disappointed in my alma mater.

where are the season ticket seats you'll be giving up located?

i keep asking to move and nothing happens. if we can get enough season ticketholders to protest, it might free up enough good seats to make a difference.

Less inclined =/= giving them up. I'm already paid up for

I believe that might be a huge mistake. What lower level student tickets go unsold I bet they immediately become IPTAY seating and the student lower level seating is gone. Just my thoughts.

I don't think DRad would mind.

Apr 13, 2016, 3:36 PM

I'm sure plenty of people would love to pay full price for those seats. Then the next year students would have a smaller number to buy in the lower level since those would now be priority for season ticket holders from the year before

Having said that, I'm sure demand will be high coming off the season we had last year and the potential for 2016.

I expect the student lower level tix to sell out, petition or not.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not gonna happen, buddy.

Apr 13, 2016, 4:30 PM

Those tickets will sell out very quickly to students who are ALL IN.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Students that don't have and extra $250 = not "all in"?

Apr 13, 2016, 4:36 PM

Got it. Why do you hate poor people?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It will only be a 1% increase to what I pay to attend

Apr 13, 2016, 5:32 PM

I will still be able to afford it, as will many of my friends who aren't rich and are still finding ways to attend here. Many of us see this as a very good thing
