the military is a good option for many, keep you out of trouble while you mature, had several in my platoon that a judge gave them the option of jail or military and they did well

It's a complicated situation, however if more than 2000 rockets in the past week had been fired into El Paso from Ciudad Juarez in Mexico, not only would we be lighting up Juarez, we would have ground troops in Mexico cleaning things up.
One could make the case that the US essentially "stole" a vast section of the Southwest from Mexico. Let's suppose the Mexicans were frosted from that and chose to lob rockets into now US border cities. We would respond harshly.
Having said that, Israel should quit building settlements in Palestine.
A proper do over in my opinion would have been for the UN to have given the Jews a big chunk of Germany after the war and left things as they were in the Middle East. Too late.
This killing from both sides won't end until there is a clear dominating victory by one side over the other. The world won't allow that, so the perpetual conflict will continue.

Yup.
The Palos have to have freedom of movement, work, and government. The problem is, every time they get close to that, militants abuse their freedoms, and blow stuff completely to he!! again, and just inflame the cycle all over again.
Hardliner Israelis in turn push further and further into the West Bank in the name of "security", but they're also building settlements. Worse, they're outright lying like Trumpists now, and claiming those "settlements" were always Jewish land. (They weren't. It never was.) They're fortifying those settlements like something out of sci-fi movies, and those settlements are outright middle fingers at existing former peace agreements. As long as they exist, there will be no peace...and the hard-liners will never, ever give them up.
It's just a mess, especially because the Palos are a divided country without enough territory to begin with - they live in two sections (Gaza/West Bank), and the Israelis restrict travel between the two and are now taking chunks out of the West Bank and are outright lying and claiming it was always theirs.
There's no winning there, if you're America. We need to bail on that situation, ASAP. We've tried and tried and tried to mediate, but they aren't having it. Too many extremist knotheads on both sides, and too many bad actors pushing things from the outside.
It. Is. Not. Our. Problem. And trying to solve it only puts us in the crosshairs.

If you were a Palestinian who was born and raised there, what would be your response to being kicked out of your house, with no compensation, so that a lush Israeli settlement could be built and being forced to live where 90% of the available water is not fit for human consumption? Would you just say OK and accept your fate, or would you fight back. Asking for the next time you claim you need an AR 15 to defend yourself against "tyranny".

Tapping out would be your best strategy. When you constantly spin nonsense, it's easy to lose track and end up talking yourself into a corner like you have done in that Israel's Imperialism is a result of terror attacks. Israel is not innocent in the conflict over there, and they share at least equal blame in the current state of affairs there. And Israel has this arrogance only because they have had our support. I support Israel's right to defend itself, but we should not support their expansion nor should we look the other way on their human rights abuses. The people of Palestine should get statehood. If they get this and continue to want to fight, that's on them and they will suffer.

I agree that Israel should stop expanding settlements into both the West Bank and Gaza and not use water as a weapon. However, Hamas is stupid to launch rockets into Israel. Tell me how this helps the people of Gaza. It may feel good to poke the bear, but it is a losing proposition.
BTW, I actually read a lot on a myriad of topics, but thanks for your question. Started reading at 4, so I think I can hang with you.

True B Tiger. However, I would refer you to the Hamas Covenant. It has been altered around the edges in subsequent years, but it has called for the creation of an Islamic state in Palestine, in place of Israel and the obliteration and dissolution of Israel. It goes on to state,"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals, and international conferences are all
a waste of time and vain endeavors."
As to US settlements in Mexico, there are a few conclaves of expats, but I would have to cede that Mexicans have the upper hand in settling in the US--most illegally.
Stay tuned for water wars regarding the Colorado and Rio Grande rivers. The farmers of northern Chihuahua are not happy with the current arrangement.
My point is that no matter the situation in Gaza or the West Bank, Israel is here to stay and Hamas launching hundreds of rockets into Israel will gain them nothing but more misery.
No sovereign nation is going to allow itself to be attacked by hundreds of rockets daily and sit by idly. Israel is guilty of being heavy handed in its approach to its neighbors, but it sits in a very unfriendly neighborhood.

How dare you criticize "God's chosen people"?!?! Israel has never done anything wrong since stealing the Palestinians land in 1948 (as promised by the Balfour declaration in 1917) after between 250k and 300k J's died from typhus and starvation during ww2 as confirmed by the red cross in the 1940's and the 1990's.
