How could any Clemson hoops fan not like ...

... what they've seen from this team so far, especially when compared to some of the dire preseason predictions. They won their first four games while displaying their best offensive potential in years (and without sacrificing any defensive intensity) and just had a senior-laden Top-25 team on the ropes.

Hall might already be as good as Aamir Simms; they seem to have hit big time on one of the grad transfers (Collins); Dawes, Tyson, and Honor are all much improved; and they're getting surprising (and much-needed) minutes from deep on the bench.

No, I'm not reserving Final Four tickets, and I have ongoing concerns about how the point guards will handle pressure and what happens if Hall gets injured or is in foul trouble. But I fully expect this to be an entertaining and competitive team that fans will enjoying watching.

I felt the collapse in the 7+ minute scoring drought and a 13-0 run by them was as bad as I have seen a Clemson team play. We kept popping the 3' prayers during that stretch and declined taking it inside to attempt a close-in shot or get fouled. Dawes was a liability today and Collins and Tyson took poorly advised 3 pointers late that could have been the mojo Bonnies needed to cinch the win.

I know Chas, is a Gamecock city but to be overmatched by # of supporters from Upstate NY in a game in SC is also an embarrassment.

Clue to Brad--anytime your squad goes 4 to 4 1/2 minutes without scoring then take a timeout and calm things down. Do not let the opponent go on a 21-2 run a kill your team's confidence. During the ACC season, these type performances will get us to the league bottom.

Excellent, excellent post. Spot on. We should have changed the tempo and slowed it down, worked the ball down low as you said. We could have easily gotten a couple of their players in foul trouble.

Dawes didn't have it vs temple. We need him to be consistent this year. He's supposed to be bmoc, and it appeared his frustration from Thurs carried over to Friday. I know Brad set plays for him trying to get him going, but imho, he did so to a fault.

I hope both player and coach can learn valuable lesson from this game.
