How can we have a 4th of July without discussing your meats?

Jul 4, 2021, 9:49 AM

Signed, FrancisMarion

But seriously going a little old school/cheap today. Hot dogs and brats. Hamburgers yesterday at a birthday party. Wife is going to tryout a Pioneer Woman recipe for slow cooked brisket tomorrow (it was delicious as we tried at her restaurant). I normally smoke one but she insisted. Passing on the steaks. We are in a tiny town that Kroger is leaving and no longer have a proper grocer. But we do have a Farm that is butchering their own cattle and opened a storefront. They were out of steaks but have two cows hanging to butcher this week. I’ll be waiting for those for my next steaks (anyone ever cook/try an oyster steak by the way?). Anyways excuses excuses but dogs and brats today.

And, from a fellow tnetter, please post your meat pics here . . .

Signed,

Classof1994

Brined it last night.

Homemade rub and pecan wood smoke. Probably add some cherry and mesquite.

I'm going way out on a limb today. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and baked beans.

Just hit the foil stage on the St. Louis style ribs,

and polishing off leftover burgers and blue cheese from last night.

Life is good. Happy Independence Day all.

I am jealous of you all!
Working on a fishing boat-in Alaska- I am sure the meal will not be good :(

Please post them when they are done- so I can dream!

Keeping it simple with brats and burgers. Homemade tuna and peanut butter ice cream.

Local public always has shoulder tender out. Easy to overcook, but if done right it’s similar to filet at half the cost. Did that tonight with a burger for the dog.

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

Kept it simple. Burgers, dogs, tater salad, and some fresh blueberry cake.
