How bad is baseball this year? My family

Moved to Anderson in 1968 when I was 11 years old. We moved from Orlando Florida. My dad was a big baseball fan and took me to many Minnesota twins spring training games in Orlando in the 60s. Got to see Names like Killebrew, Oliva, Carew, etc. we immediately became Braves fans and Clemson baseball fans when we moved to Anderson. I really thought the team this year had turned things around with the sweep of Louisville. But if I remember correctly, their record this year both overall and the conference is the worst record that I have seen since I have been following them in the spring of 69. What a pitiful finish to what I thought was a very promising season. . Very frustrating for all of us fans. Getting swept by Duke reminds me of the Frustration we all experienced after Clemson football lost to Wake Forest in Bowden’s last game. There is no excuse for Clemson to be swept by a Duke baseball team!!

Immediately after Leggett was fired I posted that folks had no idea what had just happened to this baseball program. I was absolutely eviscerated. Here we are with the worst season in over 60 years. Wilhelm nor Leggett ever had a year this bad. And don’t be fooled by delusions we were almost in the tournament before this weekend. We started the week with 50+ RPI and finished at 62. I can only find RPI data back to 1997 but Leggett’s worst season was 48 (and that wasn’t the season we got left out). Also, Lee’s final RPI has gotten worse every year he has been here (no final RPI in 2020). I enjoyed going back and reading all the comments about what an idiot I am and how Lee will have us back to Omaha regularly and win it all unlike Jack. Really working out great. And now it’s a Catch-22 for those of us who knew this was a bad idea in the first place. DRad so badly burnt the bridge in the Clemson baseball coaching community I’m not sure what the point of a coaching search is until a new AD can attempt to repair the relationship with Jack. Just an absolute, complete disaster for those of us that actually cared about baseball.
