How about this for SEC alignment?

Jul 25, 2021, 1:12 PM

I have no idea what they will do. Just throwing out a scenario.

4 pods (preseason rankings next to name)

Texas - 22, OU - 1, Mizzou, Arkansas
aTm - 7, LSU - 20, MS ST, Ole Miss - 19
Bama - 2, Auburn, TN, Vandy
KY, USC, UGA - 3, UF - 17

Who knows how they will rank in 5 or 10 years? But, at least today, it looks fairly balanced

TX/OU, Bama/Aub, MS ST/Ole Miss, UGA/UF - long time rivals in the same pod.

They should never put Vandy and USuC in the same pod or division again. Both are doormats.

IMO ,no pods,
2 divisions,8 teams running East to West;
East ;Alabama, Auburn ,Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
West; Arkansas, Kentucky ,LSU ,Mississippi St. Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M.
Depending on the # of regular season games ,you play each team in your division + 2 cross division games for a total of 10.
You can then schedule ( for example) your OOC rival games like Clemson and South Carolina ,Florida and FSU , Georgia and Georgia Tech, and Kentucky and Louisville just to mention a few.
Add to it those games like Clemson and Furman ( Division II games) for a total of 12.
Then you play the conference championship game.
Of course when they go to a 12 team playoff adjustments will need to be made.
