More often aren't also crying about the offense having our defense on the field too much. Our two best d linemen are in on that, can't have it both ways. Also, do you realize how easy it is to criticize play calling AFTER a play doesn't work?

The Jumbo package has a 100% success rate this year. It should definitely be used more often.

You can absolutely have it both ways. Bring the big boys on for one snap in short yardage, get a first down, extend the drive so they can sit on the sideline for a while longer.

In short: Sacrificing for the good of the whole.
The adrenaline rush it gives them probably outweighs the additional drain on stamina.
