If we can reel in half the offers we have going out, we got several more trophies to hoist. I pray they're good student atheletes out there that understand playing the long game is the right way to go.

I have no problem with that. Some excellent high school football being played out there. Competition is fierce. I also have no doubt Dabo and Co will gain ground in those states again. Was just an off year I think.

Makes sense Bill - a lot of Texas high school players understand state champion QB Cade Klubnik brings leadership, accuracy, mobility and wins! A good combination to team up with! Go Tigers!

I just do not see the longevity in UNC’s recruiting momentum.

across Texas, and a cousin (a former high school football coach) has told me repeatedly that a lot of great talent is missed by colleges, simply due to the pervasiveness of the sport throughout that state.

I've experienced it during decades of lengthy trips there, even during the season. We think we have big support here in S.C. The Texans take it to another level, even down into the preteens.

Another mutual cousin was Chairman of the Board of one of the ISD school districts along the south Gulf Coast. They decided to raze and completely rebuild the stadium for a high school of 300 students, and they did so with booster funds in the millions, complete with a new field, stands, concessions, you name it. Not one penny of state funds were needed. I've attended games there, and they were SRO, sidelines packed, with beasts for players. (Yes, they do have a filled trophy case!) It has been amazing all these years the depth of the passion for football in that state.

Our great friends here on TNet, who live there, will attest to what I'm saying. Thus, I hope we will continue to recruit there, develop relationships with high school coaches, and pay close attention to media reports out of the state.
