1. Dabo did not expect Venables would be an assistant at Clemson until Dabo retired. He has a plan.
2. Dabo did not expect Elliott would be an assistant until Dabo retired. He has a plan.
3. I'm not so sure that Dabo expected them both to leave at the same time.

This is how weird this year has been to me.
When the Florida job came open, my initial reaction was, "Lane Kiffin is the obvious first choice." Apparently he was never even considered.
I was reasonably sure that Oklahoma would hire a current head coach.
Obviously, I had no clue Riley was even talking to USC. I thought he was definitely talking to LSU.
I had no idea Brian Kelly was talking to Notre Dame.
I thought ND would hire a current head coach.
I thought Lane Kiffin would find some team that wanted him and would leave.
As sleazy as Miami is, I didn't think they would be interviewing a coach before firing their current coach.
I had no idea Cristobal was sleazy enough to talk a school (making final negotiations) while they still had a coach.
So, after everything else has happened, I have decided that the most logical thing that has happened is Napier going to Florida.

Miami didn’t even contact the Oregon AD before interviewing/offering Cristobal. You just don’t do that. Sleazy for sure.
