Hope Clemson has the money to pay

Jan 28, 2022, 9:12 PM

Expanding into all these other programs. It’s nice but will this break the bank and keep us from having the money to pay all other coaches well on the major programs?

Competitive University. Dabo’s program paved the way for a lot of it so I don’t think worrying about money channels is good use of brain capacity.

Doesn't matter because we are required by law to support Women's athletics.

Finances of an athletic program than you do. I believe our people are best in class and I’m ecstatic that they aren’t taking their cues from message boards.

Please enlighten us
What is our debt load right now?
How does it compare in adjusted dollars to historical debt?
What is our debt as a ratio of our current and expected revenues as an athletic department and university as a whole?
How do all of these compare to other cohort universities?
What is Clemson’s WACC and how has the current interest rate environment impacted it?
Do you have links to the business cases associate with these investment? You must have viewed them to be this concerned.
How much of these capital investment are being funded through debt and how much through private gifts?

You’re just a message board rando you don’t know more than the finance professionals that run our athletic department.

I think you're take on this is the antithesis of the purpose of college athletics. To provide an opportunity for talented athletes to compete at a high level whether they make money or not is practically the sole mission of college sports.

Plus having track athletes and golfers and tennis (and maybe one day ping pong) players make it to the highest levels after coming through Clemson is great publicity.

Maybe we could start a woman’s Football team

Jan 29, 2022, 1:59 AM

We could have our younger men’s football players switch teams for playing time & then switch back if we have injuries or as they improve.

It would almost like making a Woman’s JV team to develop the men’s football with a NIL switch sponsored budget!
