NCAA selection committee doesn’t like Clemson SB

We beat NW 15-3 and 3-2 and UGA 7-1. But seeded lower and get OU if we get out of the regional.

Yet
A lot of those seeds are based on past reputation not this year
See how high Bama is for example
Didn’t help that we faded down the stretch

Duke is in only their sixth year of having a softball team. Hardly a long history!

That's my point.

No it's not a long history, but they have had 3 more years over us in recruiting, and when talking about recruiting in softball, 3 years more is a lot when talking about them and US!!!

No. Bama got a 5 seed being 9-10 against top 25 and they had sos of 3. Our sos is 56. Big difference. We only played 18 games against top 50 rpi. 4-7 top 25 and 5-1 against 25-50. Not a good résumé

Nothing to do with like or dislike. We were very close and probably should have been a 2 seed somewhere.
As per criteria, record against top rpi, bad losses, and close of season all matter in seeding. We're a good pitching team but overall we're a low top 20 team.

We were 14th rpi by the ncaa before the acc tournament. I don't think they update it after season end. What gets us is our performance and eye test against top 25 teams. Plus our sos is very weak compared to other national seeds. Couple that with a bad quad 3 loss to nc st.
As I posted, we were a bubble host. The Northwestern Was and uga W had been in April, it would have matter. That and they were ooc mid week wins. That's looked at too.
Our wins over scar probably is the only reason we're hosting. It's disappointing being we were 10 seed last year.

Why does Duke’s win over Stanford in Feb count yet our 2 wins over NWestern and win over UGA in March don’t?

Quad wins/losses don't matter when they happen - if that's a thing in SB.

Clemson can take it as a blessing to be hosting a regional,

AND an insult to have to be facing Oklahoma in the Supers if we advance. If there is one lock to get to the World Series, it's the Schooners. Us advancing and beating them would be an upset of near Biblical proportions.

while I think Clemson deserved to host, the team hasn't looked as good since the FSU series. The last third of the season has been rough.

What a bad draw. Should have been seeded higher than No. 16.

You can't ISO a couple of good wins and not view the season as a whole. Our bats went cold so we faltered late against competitive teams down the stretch. Assuming we win our regional (not a certainty given our cold streak) we should welcome the opportunity to compete against OU the same way we did playing Bama in 2015-2018.
