...only ranked #16? Is it simply the fact we're a relatively new program with no history or our schedule or what. Doesn't make sense to me. Seems like we have taken a very slow climb up the rankings after racking up win after win.

the ACC is not that strong

and I think our RPI is only at 32.

Plus some of the times ahead of us have almost just as good of records, only 5 or 6 losses. But I do hope we get more respect

I’m thinking it’s just our history and coverage. National media and softball pundits don’t have much data about our team to go on. Though I wondered the same. If this program continues winning like this year after year we will be top 5 in no time. It will be fun to see how they close the season and post season play. I’m really excited. I also think a lot of people think Cagle is our whole team. While she has been ridiculously awesome beyond belief. The team has a lot of really really good players.

Think VT & Duke are only ranked teams we've played.

And we are 3-4 against them.

So, we've beaten all the unranked teams we've played and played almost .500 against teams of equal ability to ours.

Granted beating all the teams you should beat is not to be sneezed at (think the "Bowden years").

But, that probably won't get you a really high ranking.
