Have 3 closets that wife wants to turn into 1 big walk-in. Any suggestions on a high-quality reputable contractor? I live in the Seneca area.

Good luck getting a general contractor to come out and do remodeling in a timely manner. I am still waiting on my cousin to free up his schedule to do a few jobs for me. I bet your real estate agent knows a few or you can Google a local handy man / contractors and read their reviews.

Assuming you have wallboard (not plaster) and need to take down a few stud walls to open the space, why not do the demo yourself and then contract with a wallboard guy to resurface for you? Throw a coat of paint on that. Then call ClosetPro. They're a bit more pricey than Carolina Closets, but the outcome is better as is the "planning." BTW, Dabo used ClosetPro.

Someone mentioned just doing the demo yourself and tearing down the walls.

Don't take out any walls without verifying if any of the walls are loadbearing.

Also, Seneca is fairly particular when it comes to their Permit guidelines. If you do have to modify a loadbearing wall with an LVL beam and you decide not to get a Permit, then be careful if you put a dumpster on the property. Dumpsters are inspector magnets. It is possible that you will get a visit from an inspector.
