Both are considered top five QBs and some people have considered either one of them to be the best QB in the 2024 class. We offered both of them early, but Lagway went a different direction.
Based on things I have seen and read I preferred Davis. But doesn’t seem like we have heard from him recently. At least there’s no public acknowledgment of it.
It looks like the staff doesn’t think Davis is coming our way either since they made other offers.
Good luck to the kid! But I do find it interesting and ironic that he talked about being developed, the coaching staff, the culture! That those are the things he values. Interesting considering Auburn is not known for those things. Not even close! But Clemson is!

I didn't realize that posse had decommitted from auburn. That's why I really thought white was a done deal. 247 has davis as a 100% lock. Hope we still are in it. Guess we'll offer posse now.

No, don't think Riley was. At least they hadn't offered. I meant to say 247 shows him 100% Michigan CB.
Hopefully some kids will see our spring game and give us another look once they get a chance to see Riley operate.

So Davis came out publicly & stated that his recruitment is 100% still open & that he has been talking with Garret Riley & that Dabo was coming to a visit at his home.

Seems if that were true the coaching staff would have some indication, which means they would not be offering other QBs. We have a history of only making one or like this cycle two offers and waiting until we know pretty confidently what they are going to do. If we were still solidly in the lead for Davis we would not be out offering other quarterbacks. It’s possible they did that to put pressure on Davis to commit, but we don’t normally play those type of games. That would be unusual for us, especially with CK and CV already on campus.

So correct me IF I am wrong here .. But this kid said ... "I've experienced good and bad cultures and culture is very important. It shows how hard the teammates and your buddies are willing to work". Did this kid just show up on campus for a hamburger meal?? Dude! Clemson HAS culture! Family culture. Thats been the calling card of Dabos program! And to imply that the guys dont work hard! You didnt learn a thing!!

I thought he would end up here for sure, but at least we found out early in the recruiting process not that every verbal is a for sure commitment. With Klubnik and Vizzina on board, he might have thought he would be buried in depth chart. Anyway, best of luck to him at all barn.

Using the term culture (positively) while choosing a Hugh Freeze team makes me question this kids thought process. Good luck to him and hope he gets what he wanted. But I’m afraid if culture is what he’s seeking, he may be in for disappointment.

We simply need a QB that is serviceable, patient, and capable of development in order to build up the qb room numbers.
Ideally, we will pick up another “5-star” in the 25’ class.

Play calling aside, Brandon Streeter pulled in the recruits. It's worth noting that Riley takes over at the end of the process, and lost the kid to Auburn.

Auburn has a history of NCAA violations but the NCAA being what is is, no serious penalties. Good luck to the kid but if he thinks Auburn will grow him culturally, he has been terribly lied to.

True. Vacated wins are meaningless. Who won the national championship in 2004? Everyone knows it was USC, no matter what the vacated wins say. We see the product on the field, and so the NCAA only does slaps on the wrist.

Ah, we have two highly rated QBs right now that has never started a season, and I think that Cade can be listed as a 2022 red shirt right. I feel sure that after HS QBs see what Garrett does with Cade, they will probably be lining up at the door wanting in. The best to Walker White with those half dead Tigers in Aubarn Bammy!!!

On my official visit, as soon as we turned the corner on 93 past the Horseshoe (Love Beaver Lever) in May with the trees blooming it was immediately a different aura than any other campus I had visited.

That is the second highly rated pick in a week who stated they committed to an SEC school over Clemson because of the "culture." WHAT?? The 2 schools in question have had abhorrent, rotten cultures for years! Are players just saying that to have something to say or has it become a buzzword that just sounds good when interviewed rather than saying:"If I went to Clemson I would never be better than 3rd team so I went where I have a chance to play." Seems to me, THAT is the answer because they are way off base about the Culture issue. To compare the cultures of Clemson, Auburn and USCjr is a joke, at best, and more likely based on lies and unicorn dust planted by some dishonest coaches.

recruiting this kid I wondered why. He really is not that good compared to past QB we have signed. His ranking is quite pedestrian but that's just my opinion. No loss in my book.

White strikes me as clearly better than Vizzina. Slightly better competition. More yards, touchdowns, less interceptions, much more rushing yards, much more rushing touchdowns. Both are inaccurate compared to our last 5-6 QBs, but Vizzina is more accurate than White.

I like him fine, but frankly he wasn't going to play for at least 2-3 years. Cade plus CV is a LONG time to ride the pine. Maybe CV is a bust but I think Riley will do a lot with both of them. There is a Texas kid that I'm sure Riley had bumped into a time or two. That said unless we get Davis we likely will end up taking a Billy Wiles kind of kid and use the Scholarship elsewhere imo.
