DJ to the Portal?

Would not be shocked. If Big Dave is advising him which I am sure, he will be in portal in December and at Oklahoma or Ohio State for spring semester.

If he transfers, there is zero chance it is to tOSU and a 1% chance to OU.

I guess you haven't watched OU or Ohio State play this year

Both of those schools have Freshman QB's (Caleb Williams and CJ Stroud) that are absolute studs. It is more likely that OU's Spencer Rattler will enter the transfer portal than DJ...

That being said I can see him leaving from lack of development, blaming it entirely on the coaches and program

Btw my comments weren’t aimed at the coaches for his lack of development before the your a coot crowd gets here, I can just see it as his excuse if he were to leave

MJC3194, you should try watching the games and comparing / contrasting the first two (P5) games vs. the most recent two (P5) games. If you do this objectively, then you will see that DJ is evolving favorably as far as (1) pocket presence [less panicky], (2) movement at the right time / staying still at the right time, (3) trying to avoid staring at the primary receiver from beginning to end of the play, (4) taking snaps under center (e.g. the Syracuse game), (5) running instead of folding when the play breaks down and a running lane can be found.
This improvement is not simply DJ talking to "Big Dave" and winging it. This improvement is due to a combination of (A) good coaching and (B) intense effort / desire to achieve on DJ's behalf.
No one is suggesting that DJ has mastered the above 5 'growth areas' and is now at the level of Kenny Pickett. Continued improvement is absolutely a must if DJ is to be a really good college QB.
But to suggest that neither DJ nor "Big Dave" are smart enough to recognize the value of the coaching staff's efforts, or to appreciate the encouragement and public support, or to think that another good program (i.e., another program which is also far along in the development of WR's and O-Line that will be good for him NEXT YEAR), then you're not trying hard enough in the critical thinking department.

He’s made strides never said he hasn’t, but from what’s been said about his dad DJ being in the spotlight and looking great is the most important thing. He’s stock has plummeted, not saying I want him to to go or that he will, just said I wouldn’t be surprised ??

I was thinking he may want to talk to the baseball coach, its the only way he will be a pro unless things change.

If they watch how he has played this season, they won't waste a scholarship with a QB coming from the portal. Some other teams may, but I just don't think that OSU, and especially Oklahoma won't. Those teams like a blue blooded true dual threat with good enough wheels to make plays with their legs, and DJ don't run well enough!!!

CAl / USA or UCLA are all possibilities, moving home to be with Mom would make sense. Sad it did not work out for him here...

Everyone has some crazy thoughts run through their minds occasionally, but most have the good judgement to stop and think before putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. That capability seems to be in short supple here.
