What stands out about Hafley? They really believe in what they do and they are great fundamentally and understand where their stress points are. Guys understand the nuances of it

Boston College is very experienced and they are 4-0 and very confident and playing really good football. They are also executing very well. That is a reflection on experience and veteran players. They are good on third down

Asked if he has a mentor he can reach out, Swinney says he has a lot of people reach out to him (snarky comment about all the coaches who know better than him). He says he knows the issues. It's not complicated. It's all very simple.

Swinney is actually very chippy today. He says again he knows what the issues are, it's not complicated, it's simple. Reiterates he loves this team. Loves this group. They just have to teach them and grow them up.

This is another opportunity to instill things and teach young people. Great chance to teach the young people how to respond. This will make the program better. We all get pruned from time to time in life.

Swinney says this is an 8-game season. Now have to turn this around and get better, starting this week. Then the open date, and they will get some guys healed up.

He says look at stat line from last week (penalties, TOP, etc), and see it was double overtime, it shows grit and want-to. Just not where they need to be from a fundamental standpoint.

on DJ, with mechanics and footwork are not where it needs to be or can be. Sometimes there is a "wow" play and then the mechanics fall apart. Look at the tape of the BC game last year, he was special. But people need to be better around him.
