Let us NOT forget that NONE of these recruits would have committed to Clemson if Steele was still DC. Dabo deserves credit again for making the RIGHT DECISION. I don't hear all you Dabo haters now!!!!

it was kind of an obvious decision. I won't give him credit for firing Steele because any coach with half a brain would've done that.
I give him a TON of credit however, for going out and getting Venables. I admite I was skeptical at first, but the more I find out about him, the better I like the hire.

@Citidal, yeah and they committed before we gave up 70 to W Virginia. Do you honestly think we would've gotten RN or Daniels if Steele was still DC??? I think not ....

Those other players committed before the 2011 season when it wasn't obvious Steele wasn't going to get it done on defense.

I think if we can be in the top 25 for turnovers caused, top 25 for sacks, and top 40 overall in defense we will be solid this year. The pace our offense sets is miserable for our DC. Which goes back to why Venables was hired, OU runs a similar offense to us in regards to pace.

Certainly BV deserves a lot of credit, but a lot of that goes to Brooks, Hobby and Harbison as well. We have a great coaching staff. Let's hope we can hang onto these guys for a few more years...
