Depression. Things were not much better at Clemson College. We only notched three victories in the 1932 season. Those three victories, along with a lone tie, all came against what are now FCS teams. But, considering that the previous year only produced ONE win, you would have to count this as progress. 2nd year Head Coach Jess Neely was still struggling to find some offense on his team, and, unlike the previous year, his defense was giving up more points as well, leading to a 3-5-1 overall record.

The annual victory over the Coots on Big Thursday was deferred again, as the home standing Chickens took home a 14-0 victory, their second in as many years. Clemson led the series 19-10-1.

Georgia Tech returned to the schedule, with the Tigers once again facing them at Grant Field, and the results were predictably bad, with the Bees stinging us to the tune of 32-14.

Rival Georgia also returned to face the Tigers on Riggs Field, and they too had their way with us, 32-18.

The Tigers also seemed to restart another bad “tradition”, losing the last game of the season once again to the Furman Paladins. This time it was by a score of 7-0. Being shut out in the final game was a mini summary of the whole season, it seemed.

The SoCon was doing some strange calculations to come up with a conference champion back in these times, it seems. They declared Conference Tri-Champions, with Tennessee at 7-0-1, Auburn at 6-0-1, and LSU at 4-0-0 all being declared winners. Clemson was on the exact opposite end of the spectrum, tieing with Mississippi State and Sewanee for LAST place in the 23 team conference.

The good news was, this meant there was no place to go but UP, the next year, right? All results below:
