Curious what you T-Netters do?

Aug 22, 2015, 10:42 AM

For work that is...

Sirius post btw

I've owned a serviced based business since 02'

I'm pretty much a slacker, or Tnetter, when not working - which is most of the time lately ;)

Land surveyor here. Sometimes hard work, but it seems like my childhood was spent training for it. I was the kid that had to be made to go inside. I do sometimes get a little jealous of the guys that don't have to feel the wrath of a south carolina summer??

manual laborers/blue collards

Actually, I consider myself a mix between white & blue collar. As I do some of the actual work and also handle the accounts/deal with the clients etc. Rapidly becoming more of a white collar/figure head though - the hades with the manual labor - too much for a man of the ripe ole age of 39 - just too damnn hard. Training some young bucks to do the brunt of the hard work - so I can spend more time marketing/developing accounts. Oh, and to afford myself more time here with you other miscreants ;)

Blue collards are pretty valuable...

Aug 23, 2015, 9:05 PM

Sorry but I failed to mention that I moved back to SC and got into surveying here as a career change (no ski resorts to manage in Greenville). I got used to the mild dry summers there and threw myself straight into 100 degree days here and it's tough for sure. Still really enjoyable and a ton of learning but it suits me.

ninetytwotiger: The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

Bob Porter: Don't... don't care?

ninetytwotiger: It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now if I work my ### off and Initech ships a few extra units, I don't see another dime, so where's the motivation? And here's something else, Bob: I have eight different bosses right now.

Bob Slydell: I beg your pardon?

ninetytwo: Eight bosses.

Bob Slydell: Eight?

ninetytwotiger: Eight, Bob. So that means that when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled, that and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.

Since the show supposedly takes place in Denver pictures for the walls and around the set need to reflect Colorado. The easiest place to spot my photos are on the calendar in the kitchen. There is also one of the elk in my backyard that is in the master bedroom and some in Ed's office. 20th Century Fox films is by far my largest customer, but I do have 2 local exhibits going right now. Help my daughter with Harts2Paws

Aug 22, 2015, 11:29 PM
image.jpg(73.6 K)
image.jpg(28.9 K)
image.jpg(244.6 K)

I help my daughter with Hart2paws a foundation she started to help others(children, soldiers and adults) get a Medical Service Dog or Mini Horse and to educate the public about Service Animals in every state.

I'm a minister, children-students, I help run Celebrate Recovery for teens, adults and jail/prison ministry.

I bent over to pick our 3 lbs Yorkie three years ago and something snapped in my back. I've had surgeries but my spinal cord is torn in my low back. I always worked out, played Y-basketball and tennis up to this happening. This has been the biggest fight in my life. Some days I can walk with a walker but I went from active to depending on help from my family a lot of the time. I'm more grateful for life now and being able to cheer my daughter on at her dream after so many struggles. Becca was Miss Teen High Point and Miss High Point, she would have been the first girl in a Miss USA pageant circuit by being in the Miss North Carolina Pageant last November with a service animal but she was in the hospital in a Lupus Flare.

I have been blessed to have a great wife and daughters. My daughter who started Harts2paws has a heart condition, Lupus and severe OCD all brought on by the lupus. The foundation helps people anywhere and everywhere get a service animal for little are no cost. We have breeders that donate 1 dog or mini horse once a year and trainers who donate part or most of the training. Harts2paws helps with the training and vet costs. Most of the time when people get to the place they need a service animal they can't afford the $25k-30k for training. We have found if the dog/horse stays and trains with the person they are helping they bond better and they have better success. I guess in being physically down right now I have another passion.

Thank you to all of you who served us and our freedom

Aug 23, 2015, 7:00 PM

By serving in the armed services. I could never write enough to explain how y'all have blessed us by putting you life, limbs and sanity on the line for all the many freedoms and liberty we have.

Thank you to the Hospice workers too. I know hospice has touch most our lives in some way.

I volunteered at hospice leading church groups, we came in and served meals, the ladies sewed vests with buttons and etc. They also made pillows and neck pads. The men in the groups would help by pressure washing the walkways and outdoor furniture. When you walk in and talk to families in crisis it's amazing that all the hospice workers give their all to make the most difficult situations be as dignified as possible. Thank guys!

Hospice is now helping me with palliative care for the last 6 months to make things more manageable with pain and etc with my back and spinal tear. I never dreamed hospice would be helping me. They are awesome.

All you guys are awesome, it's amazing the variety of things you all do for a living. With the titles I consider you all better than me. I know your families are all proud of you guys & girls.. I am too, thank you all for sharing your love for Clemson with me.

Thank you for bringing up the subject of what everyone does for a living, it has been eye opening.

Information Designer. I didn't come up with that title. Ask SAP. I basically design the delivery of information via multiple mediums. It's a lot of writing and editing. I spend most days rewriting other people's bad writing, correcting spelling and grammar errors, and designing the visual aspect of documentation and online content. Now you may understand why reading the Tnet boards makes my skin crawl on most days.
